First Time In Almost 40 Years

I sold three trap and bought one so I guess I am heading down that road ,lol, not fast enough according to my treasury department minister but still have a few in the safe. Sent my 1148 .28 g skeet out for a stock upgrade now a guy wants to buy it soo ,here we go again

I put the Maxus through 3-100 target events yesterday at the Edmonton City Championships. 100 singles, 100 handicap(25.5yds) and 50 pair doubles. Never shot singles or caps with it previously and I cannot recall a time I shot it without the Shotkam attached. Well removing the Shotkam changed the swing and balance drastically(for the better of course). The gun fits me perfectly and shoots where I'm looking. With some practice to get used to a flatter shooting gun for trap I think it will work well for me for my one gun does all mindset I have these days. At the end of the day I captured high gun C class singles and high gun C class doubles, handicap nothing but my scores were no worse than with the trap guns I've been shooting the past decade and I have to say since I'm getting close to senior citizens age the weight savings from a break action 9.5lb trap gun to the Maxus' 7lbs, combined with gas action sure made for a really nice non-tiring and soft shooting 300 rounds in one day even with the 3 dram 1 1/8oz loads I was running. I don't usually shoot 3 dram 1 1/8oz as I find recoil a bit heavy but this gun tamed them greatly.
And my homemade "calf ear tag" deflector worked amazingly! All my hulls landed in a tight little pile regardless of target angle two feet ahead and 3-4 feet to my right. Not a single one landed anywhere near the shooter to my right. Confidence to go forward with this gun is high!
