Flash Suppresor vs. Muzzle Brake

NEA,
Do you think the 14 mm X1 thread would work on the small diameter Cinese M14 barrels WITH OUT a crush washer and shoulder for the crush washer to bear on??
thanks

[;{)

When i have my m14 cut down i will have them cut it longer and thread it for M14x1 and give it a try.

GREAT!!!!
While I know from personal experience that the 1/2" x 28 TPI has worked well for dozens of M14 shorties I've done my self, there have been some concerns that THEORETICALLY, the small diameter 1/2" thread at the muzzle might cause some accuracy loss.

Practically,
experience has shown that M 14 shorties with the 1/2" thread are still capable of superb accuracy,
but here is a case where BIGGER is BETTER just might be true.

If the 14 X 1 mm thread is PROVEN as viable for M14 muzzle accessories,
I WOULD SWITCH OVER TO THAT MY SELF.

Good luck with your experiments,

OK I'm looking for the cleanest muzzle brake for a non-chopped Krieger. I'm thinking of going with Laz's scope mount so I'm looking to delete the front sight so something without the dovetail and cleaner look would be great. Any suggestions? Anyone?

Question.

With the Smith Enterprise Gas Lock Front Sights fight on a Norc Gas Lock?

I'm only asking because on the Marstar page their Gas Lock Front Sight says they are metric threaded and won't fit on an M1A.

Unless you have a USGI or another American made barrel nope it won't work.
Barry from Bit's of Piece's make almost the excate same as the Smith 1 for Norinco Barrels for $85 plus shipping & taxes;

Or you can get M14Doctor to make you his ultimate front sight mod for $90 and it will still allow you to use your same gas lock and other tools as the only mod is done to the gas block. Also at the same time to you can get your gas system unitized and I think he gives you a deal for doing this too.
Also please rember NO HOT LINKING OF NON DEALERS WEB SITE PLEASE. As they can ban you for this.

and now another fantastic option for the 1/2 x 28 threaded M14 type shorties.
these new canadian made .30 cal flash hiders will be replacing the Dlask Vortex type flash hider I have commonly installed for guys gettting shorty mods done.
This is the "NEW" NAV-14 , 1/2 x 28 , .30 cal flash hider.
I was given the first samples and first 10 from the production run and those i've asked to try it and myself included are very impresssed with the appearance and quality of machining and finish. I still want to take a rifle out at night and get some night time shooting on video to see how much flash reduction this one is capable of, but for us regular joe's , it's all about the appearance hehehe. These will be the new signature flash hider in my shorty/squad rifle modifications. have a look :D

shown loosely threaded to shorty norc with UFS (ultimate front sight instead of a problematic gas lock sight)
