Just got this little guy. gen 2. Canadian version. Barrel is 4" +

The trigger is not the Double Action Only as in the first generation. Complaints were that it was too long and heavy. This trigger is much more like a Glock, but not as good.

The sights are interesting. Instead of putting the sights in adjustable dovetails, the sights slide off easily and can be replaced by others from a sight set included with the gun. The front sight has a choice of three heights (for elevation) and the rear sight has a choice of 5 settings (one centered and two each for left and right). For me and my ammo the low front sight and one notch right is perfect.

The gun groups fairly well, but would never be my choice for competition. Trigger is not good enough.

However, the big problem is misfires. Using Tula primers I get 40% misfires. This makes it a perfect gun for testing primer sensitivity. I am loading up some different primers tonight and expect (hope) the Federal to work 100%. I have never used the S&B, so have no idea how they compare to Win and CCI.

Selleir & Belot 3/10 misfires

CCI 1/10 Misfires

Winchester 1/10 Misfires

Federal uses a more sensitive compound. Not surprised it all fired.

I have to admit that I've never even heard of this pistol before. How much did it cost?

So I have this same gun (had it for a year now) and had the same problem (light strikes)

I tried different primers and also replaced the striker assembly and got mixed results. It was the inconsistency that was so frustrating.

I ended up using an emery board to file the shoulder of the firing pin to allow it to strike just a little deeper and the performance dramatically improved.

The big advantage if the less than smooth trigger is that it forces you to focus on trigger control. when you pick up another gun with a nice clean trigger, that muscle memory carries over.

Increased protrusion sounds like a good idea. I note that the primer strike is not in the centre of the primer. It is missing the anvil.

I have one of these pistols, and using factory ammo I have never had a light strike/misfire, ftf or fte. So far it has been 100% reliable.

POS trigger, but if it were reliable it would serve a purpose.

Sorry to hear you got a dud, as the couple guys around here that own em have no complaints about misfires.

IIRC it is centered. I'll check the next time I shoot it and let you know if it isn't.

FWIW the trigger is pretty crappy, but it seems to get better with use. Almost everyone that has handled the pistol likes the way it feels in their hand though. IMHO FMK nailed the ergo's.

Mine seems to hit off center too, but I don't think that is the problem. I think the strikers or the channel they are in require slight adjustments. As I said, once the shoulder was reduced slightly, it showed significant improvement - went from one out of 5 misfires to one out of a hundred.

Here is what a strike looks like. It probably misses the anvil.

The dent looks deep enough, but I get misfires with all primers except federal. I can make ammo with federal primers, but I know something is not right.

This is a Gen 2 pistol, with a drop free mag and a trigger that feels much like a Glock.
