FN C1A1 With C1 Sniper Scope - Pictorial

I have a like new C1 Leitz scope with correct lens covers, an NOS base to the rifle, and a scratched scope tin with cleaning cloths inside. No screwdriver or base cover.

I have a fair buck into the items as I had to locate and buy them separately over time.

I don't own an FN, C1 or otherwise.

Does anyone want to buy the set for what it cost me? You won't like what I have into it.

I'd like to see it with a person who owns a live C1.

When did these go prohib, was it 78
If only I'd been born about 15 years earlier, I may have had a slight chance, a glimmer of hope to own an FN
Thanks to my birth date, Canadian law prohibits me from owning all these nice rifles
A travesty that Canada made its anti-gun laws to ensure Canadians can't own rifles made in Canada and carried by Canadians
That rifle is just screaming "gimme some range time, 600yds, 800yds, no prob got it covered"

They're not cheap, considering that that they are a unique accessory for a prohib rifle! My complete set cost me $1700! Anything South of that would be a decent deal in my books....
 
Could you please reach out to Forgotten Weapons and see if Ian can somehow tee up with you and do a video on it? I think you've got a hell of a treasure there and it'd be nice to share it and also preserve it for posterity with his project.
 
Perhaps I need to clarify...

I'm aware Ian has done an FN C1 video, but he hasn't done one on the FN C1 sniper. Marstar's video that you linked to does nothing to talk about the history or the technical aspects of the weapons system. Forgotten Weapons does an excellent in-depth look into whatever firearm is being featured, and with excellent video quality to boot. That's why I think Forgotten Weapons should do a video on this unique and rare combination
 
Bartok, the time and effort you are taking with your photos is paying off! Lighting, etc, takes time, and you are doing a great job of photographing your stuff. Keep it up. Please.
 
The story is, Canada's FN's were in pretty sorry shape by the end. Pretty clapped out.

I was probably in one of the last basic training classes that used the FN C1's and C2's on course. I remember the C1 I had would easily break open doing stuff like fire and movement, and not particularly going down hard. I also remember the thing would break open after taking a few shots. It was definitely worn out and not fit for active service, and I was just told to deal with it as they were being replaced soon anyway. It was good to get new C7's, but I remember those plastic magazines kept falling out, and always had to hold the rifle by the mag well and magazine so I wouldn't loose it. It took years before the aluminium mags started to be issued.
 
Cantom - is yours still up for grabs?

My 8L C1A1 might look good with a scope on it.

I could then do a side-by side comparison in photos of the L1A1 Trilux as well...since I have one of those for my British L1A1.

Of note, I've shared my photos a long time ago with folks...my photo set is the one on milsurps dot com comparing a Brit, Canuck, and Indian FN.

My rifle was less than 40 digits away from the one that Ian reviewed on Forgotten Weapons.
