FN Five-Seven, would you buy one?

I think I might buy one, but I suspect I'd put a few boxes of ammo through it, wake up one day and think to myself: "WTF use is that pistol?" And then sell it.
 
I think if your not using it for an AP purpose than its nothign more than a glorified over priced 22mag type paperweight.

Perhaps for military or law enforcement. It just seems like alot of money to pay for something that we cant use for its designated purpose anywas..

Gimme a P7M8 anyday...

Well, it has to be specially imported so you do the math ;)

Appeal of 5-7? It fires the 5.7x28mm round. High velocity, designed to defeat body armor with the AP round. Touted by FN as the solution to the proliferation of body armor in modern armies.

Wolf in the states is slated to start production of the caliber aswell (probably made in yugoslavia) so the price of ammo will go down as more companies drum up production.
 
As far as ammo goes, the military stuff is banned, so you can't buy it anyway, but you can reload for it. The brass is easy to get, and the dies from RCBS are under $30 now. Just load them up with all the .223 55grn fmjbt you have laying around.... :D

The stuff available on the market now is kosher. Only the origional and now restricted for sale AP ammo is illegal here.

The AP ammo, steel jacketed is a little harder on the barrel
