Got to handle a semi-auto FN FS2000 recently (but did not get to shoot it). There are only a handful in the country, but I know someone who will sell me a new one for $3600. I know almost nothing about this rifle other than the fact that it is rare and looks cool  Anyone have any info about the reliability, accuracy, and overall merits of this gun? Does $3600 seem like a "fair" price for it

impact lists them at around 2100, I know there is always an increase up here but it seems a bit much.

would be cool to have, something a little different then the tavor, although ever one seems to rave about the tavor.

It is destined to fade to oblivion in the market. Anyone who uses plastic clamshell and screws to hold the barrel trunion together should have their left nuts ripped off. The IA drill for magazine failure could involve separating the ensire upper receiver from the lower, and I have seen the weirdest stoppage under that toilet seat......Interesting rifle but...

At $3600 I don't think you can go too far wrong. Sure there are better rifles out there for less money but the limited supply of these will likely keep their value up.

Maybe in Ontario, you're better off with a restricted but in the wilds of Alberta, it would be very inconvenient buying a restricted firearm with such a big playpen to play in.

Even though or if it is better than the Tavor, for a little less performance you can still get off the reservation.

That is a fair chunk of change and on top of that I doubt you would be willing to feed it salty ammunition...

I think a person has to be very careful not to suffer extreme buyer's remorse when dealing with firearms this pricey. Of course if you are stinking rich go for it and no-one will feel sorry for you! ;)

There is no such thing as an FS2000 in Canada. It's a myth and legend. nothing to see here folks...move along

Rest assured, they are for real ;). The guy I know has 2 of them NIB. The more I think about it, the less inclined I am to go for it. If anyone else is interested, let me know and I will put you in touch with him.

I told you...thye dont exist

Sure Ugly for that much money, Try the Type 97 , buddy at the Edmonton base got one, and it very impressive, he is one the board here...

No thanks, I wasn't too impressed with the one I fired last year (FN2000) way too much bulk for the package. If FN can iron out the faults in the mechanism I'll consider one....someday

I try one last year in November in Navada, it not too impressive either, but I hope I will have a change to try out the type97 next few week.

yep, the back end is bulky...i found it easy to point and acquire targets, but not all that easy to carry around
