I wasted a day making this poster, starting from doing the photos, to putting them on the computer, to doing the photochop crap. I have to thank my wife for teaching me the computer stuff today, including the watermark thing. I took the photos each individually done, and then "morphed" them onto the background.

It's actually 24 inches wide, and I'm thinking of getting it printed at Costco as they can do a good job, also hard mounting it as well.

Now that I'm in my 50's I don't spend near enough money on beer and other forms of misbegotten pastimes. I just buy useless gear. And take photos.

On the 24" print, all of the lettering is actually legible. ie. In the 22 kit, you can read the list of contents, and on the scopes, you can read the descriptions, etc. For this site, I've shrunk it, so it got blurred a bit. Gotta be some sort of computer reason for that.

Not quite as much stuff or as cool as the M4 sopmod posters, but I kinda like the Canadian flair.

Koldt,

If you print one up at Costco, can you let me know the price?

For info, you can order a print for pickup at ANY Costco in the country....so if you wanted to order one for pickup at the Dartmouth store, and listed my name on the purchase order....I'd be delighted to pay a reasonable price!

You're also missing the mythological grenade throwing adapter and the grenade front sight. I once had a WO tell me he actually saw one once.

Ohh, and the pull through and oil bottle that fits in the butt.

Really nicely done poster though. I bet there are a lot of old GNutz like me looking at it longingly.

If the s/n on that one is 7L2612 it's mine from basic training 46 yrs ago....and I want it back!;)

The C1 in the poster is an 8L- series rifle, as depicted by the foresight guards on this rifle. I can't remember if the 7L rifles had the same guards. Not picking at you, bud, just an observation. I can't remember all of the different ones I had issued to me, but I do remember the last one - 8L3522. I took it to Bisley in 1986, shot it in 1987 through rifle team training, and then at Connaught, and then turned it in when we started using the C7A1 in 1988. I shot the C1 in Bisley in 85 and 86; won the 500 yard deliberate, and some other smaller stuff. Those were the good old days, and that rifle really demanded all of your skill. Didn't mean to hijack your thread, but it sure brought back some good memories!!! Awesome poster.
Gord:)

God thats a fine looking Rifle, I never had access to all those accessories though LOL. Just showing it to my son who uses the C7, so he could see what a Battle Rifle looks like.:canadaFlag:
Koldt I'll be 50 this year and do you know how sad I am for selling my FN before the Prohib status for peanuts and now can never own one again. I was out of organized shooting when the laws were being past and have to pay the consequences for life.
Just something to make you feel a little more priviledged right now than most of us. Enjoy your status.

P.S. Very professional looking poster, thanks!

Fusiler,

I saw your Bio, and because my Son is a Fusilier i'm putting two and two together.:canadaFlag:

I'm pretty sure I'd pay a few bob to have a decent sized posted of that to proudly display on my wall (minus the koldt script though).

Well Done!

I turn 50 this year too. The first centrefire rifle I ever shot was the FN back when doing SYEP in Sydney in 79. Please pass on my warmest regards to your son. I was CO back from 2004 to 2007 and I've since moved on to teaching Staff School out of Kingston ON.

I'd love to own and shoot an FN but with Canadian laws written by morons, the closest I have is shooting my Norinco M14 - still a battle rifle and still 7.62 but not the same as an FN. Mind you, it's easier to clean.

Nice Poster and I would like to buy one as well (without KOLDT)..carried a FN for years and got one after I got out . Sold it when the laws changed

We used to get those rubber covers that fit over the flash eliminator as well...they were black in color .
