With cash only…..keep all plastic in the car.
cash is not safe if you want to buy controlled items because you have to show your ids, which may be sold to some guys in Cyprus.

This place acts like a paw shop now.
During the business hour when they open, you want to walk in, you still have to ring the doorbell, a grimly looking guy will stick his head out from behind the door and ask what's your business. You have to give a convincing a reason (i.e. pick up, buy something naming specific models/makes...etc), then he closed door and came back 5 minutes later telling you that you may or may not come in.
What kind of shady business would ever practise like this?
Even though they would let me in, even though I would pay cash only, even though they have the last item I want with lowest price on this planet, I would NOT go.
There are actually quite a few gun shops that “buzz” you in. Can’t hardly blame them for taking these precautions. I know of several jewellers that practice the same security measures.
As for the credit card issues, I wasn’t affected so no comment.

Ive had two visa debit breaches unrelated to FOC. Fraud is rampant nowadays.
For all online purchases, I use a prepaid MasterCard from BMO. It takes 2 seconds to transfer the funds I need for the purchase from my regular bank account ( also a BMO ), and therefore they can’t take #### if they tried. At worse, you may see a small charge of a dollar or less when they try to see if the card is still active.

Transfer is immediate , and you can use the funds right away....not even a second wait time. It’s called a master prepaid travel card. I have been using this for over 7 years now, works like a charm.that right there is a great idea! when you transfer funds from your account to the card, can they be used right away or is there a day or two delay?
I just bought some ammo online, was wondering why they didn't have emt or I couldn't find it on the checkout!
my card company sent a question asking if i was actually purchasing. then I saw this thread and someone mentioned it in the ammo section. I just called the cc company, they said that they couldn't put a watch on but for me to call if there was an issue or I could cancel the card and issue another which is what I will do. I just gotta make sure no auto payments will be affected while I change over.
EMT only from now on.

understood, but at least in my case, the transfer is recorded on my bank app, it gets transferred to the emt company and then to the seller, once I have hit send, it is the responsibility of the bank and emt company to get it to the email address I sent it too. if it doesnt make it to their account then the bank pays me back, same as my cc.There were cases when EMT receivers' e-mail systems were hacked and payments diverted to hackers/fraudsters accounts ... never to be recovered ...
and no goods were ever shipped as sellers never received payments in their bank accounts ...
banks were unable to trace where the money actually went, but as they were delivered to legit sellers' e-mails, didn't provide any relieve
as much PITA credit cards handling is in these situations, there's still a significant chance to not actually lose one's money

And do you get anywhere near the perks and security of using a real card? Extended warranty ? Theft protection? Price match? The list goes on, I’ve yet to see a preload card that offers any.
why is anyone still dealing with these guys is my question
