FOC creditcard fraud?

Not sure what this has to do with CC Fraud. My order arrived promptly too.... I'm still fighting the charges on my account from back in October/November ....

Not worth it for some SK Rifle Match .....

Wasn't your bank able to determine the charges were out of the ordinary...it should've have been pretty obvious no? If FOC is a victim here as well...then I hope they fix it, and everything moves on. Didn't they say it was fixed/updated several pages back?

The CC thing happened to me as well, it was a minor inconvenience. Several stores purchases within a two week period....I can't say for certain which one.

I'm glad your banking experience was a minor inconvenience, and this is not a big deal for you.
I'm going to throw out that you're a shill. 5 posts all on this thread and all in defense of FOC.

Everyone can make a mistake. They (FOC) handled it horribly.

My bank experience related to the breach is that they (the bank) has to do an investigation which takes up to 90days, during which I'm responsible for the interest on the fraudulent transactions. I also had to rearrange all PaPP payments setup on the card.

I've also had to purchase an Equifax credit protection program because based on the breach the end party may (most likely)has more details than just my credit card number.

They (FOC) are responsible for not protecting my information, especially given they knew there was a breach. Had FOC disclosed they had a problem, or responded appropriately by not taking credit card orders until the breach was repaired, my order wouldn't have been impacted.

To suggest that somehow it's not a big deal - is just ridiculous.

Well I can tell you one thing, the people that are targeting the firearm companies are getting a good laugh out of this thread. I rather not give them that satisfaction. Carry on.

My last account was from 2006 when I got my PAL/RPAL, haven't been here in a very long time. How many people from here have contacted FOC to find out the details, and report back...wouldn't that be the best course of action?

You should do some reading in this thread as this has been answered more than a few times.

Last I saw from FOC is a post saying they updated/patched the vulnerability. Whatever man... Just my observations.

I'll go elsewhere, so as not to make people here angry.

You’re not very good at reading…. You asked “How many people from here have contacted FOC to find out the details”, then you said you saw a post from FOC, lol

Nobody’s angry, just wondering what you’re agenda is…

Yes I saw a post from FOC explaining the issue, I didn't read every page in this thread. Getting called names, and other nonsense is why I stopped posting here last time.

Maybe it's you. Lots of good members here with lots of helpful advice.

They were informed of a security issue in October. Their first response to this post was in November. They knew about the breach and continued on with their good Friday sale, which I seemed to have had my CC compromised from. I received their sale emails well afterwards, yet nothing from them about a breach. Unfortunately I only found out about the breach from this post. So, yes, it is pretty sketchy on their part. I'm new to this world but I will never shop there again and I cannot in good conscience refer them to anyone.

I have a real easy solution for preventing credit card fraud. Have a low limit and keep the balance high enough that even if someone gets your credit card information, they're not getting very much. It sounds kind of stupid, but it works. In the past I've had my credit card info stolen twice and although VISA was cooperative, it was a real pain in the ass.

If you go to your online banking to your credit card page usually theres a option to lock and unlock card so nobody can use it unless it's unlocked.

Thinking I was one of the lucky ones... Nope. December 31 for $688 and January 4 for $411, both in Quebec. Luckily/Unfortunate for me my CC was still maxed out from my pistol purchase from another retailer months ago.

I would like to chime in. I lost $2600 due to debit card fraud shortly after purchasing from FOC. This occurred in individual ~$100 "Presto Card" (bus card) transactions over the course of a month. Got in contact with the BMO fraud department. As expected, they didn't do anything. Do not bank with BMO.

The Presto bus system apparently also operates in the Ajax region where FOC is located...

Interestingly enough, one day before the first transaction, a guy from FOC called me about some trivial information concerning a pending restricted transaction. Suspicious in retrospect.
