FOC creditcard fraud?

I made a couple purchases from FOC this summer with both visa and Mastercard but the one that was compromised was Mastercard. I actually made a lot of gun shop purchases so would be hard to pin down the source of the problem, but when you hear hoof beats think horses not zebra, so FOC was prob the source. Not piling on blame. It happens in this world.

a lot happened with them ...

I ordered from FOC twice in the past few months and I was hit with fraudulent $12k in StubHub purchases a few days ago on my Visa. Thanks FOC for being forthcoming and letting me know I should be aware... FU, poorly run company. I will never order anything from you again.

There's no defending not letting clients know that there was a serious data breach. Those of you defending FOC should really think about how you want your data protected and if it's reasonable to withhold such information.

Foc also has zero refund policy too you buy a firearm online if its crap its youres too bad. Most other retailers will refund or exchange no issue

You clearly have ZERO idea how a computer or network works. This is the fastest way of saying "I'm over 60" without actually saying it.

Their website was compromised which corresponds to the database in their end. Not on your computer. Oh god what a place where the uneducated can "educate " others

Your tinfoil is on too tight. Where did I say the problem was on my computer? I'm not over 60, not that there's a problem with anyone over 60, and I wasn't attempting to educate anyone. I applauded the company's efforts, and suggested giving its customers another layer of security insulation (invariably most will have felt the sting of the theft and will be reluctant to buy on credit with them again?).

So, I will attempt to educate. Go for a walk, you seem a bit tightly wound and for someone who I assume owns firearms, being tightly wound, donning a tinfoil cap and spouting conspiracies isn't a good look for our community. Try to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. And you're welcome.

I am starting to think that the government databases have been compromised or even worse they are targeting us as firearm owners.

I want to remind you that a group of hackers were the ones to release the list of the freedom convoy donators. These people were then harassed by global news employees as if this hacked list is proof of their involvement. The dontators could have been hacked like we were but global only had the intention of shaming them and scaring them to not support any movement like this again. Where do you think those orders came from ?

So in summary, "hackers" were able to break into "secure" platforms like GoFundMe and then leaked every single supporters' name to the whole world, at which point, Canada's main media station, arguably a front for this fake coup communist "government" we call the Trudeau administration then started harrasing these people.

Does this sound familiar ? Only question to ask yourself; are these a holes really capable of doing this ? You decide ;)
GoFundMe wasn't hacked. It was GiveSendGo that was hacked, a much smaller operation than GoFundMe and likely a less sophisticated / more vulnerable target.
(GoFundMe got its panties in a knot when the SHTF and just started handing out refunds)

Have your CC company issue new cards. Takes about a week for the new numbers.
Yes a pain at this time of the year, but if you shopped there online it is probably a good idea.

In fact I have a couple cc and I may go back to setting a low credit limit on one of them and setting up online protections, with a highly secure password and using it exclusively for online purchases. In my past experience the only compromised cards have been Mastercard so not sure if they are easier to hack or just bad luck.

14 years ago i used an online card in france that was generating an unique number for an unique purchase do not know why it is not used in canada, patent maybe?

There was just an unauthorized charge on my card and I didn't finish checking out back in October because the item went out of stock before I paid. I'm not saying there is a correlation.
