Food Plots whos planting?

I don;t have a problem with it. It;s legal. he's putting in the work to farm a few deer. It's a legal HARVEST

I do have a problem with calling it hunting. Harvest yes. Legal yes. Hunting? Not really. (but then again neither is siting over any preplanted crop waiting for bambi)

yup. don't consider it hunting Legal, ethical, harvest. but glassing a food plot isn't hunting

You sneak through woods so thick you can't see anything until you are five yards away and have to shoot in a split-second?

You still-hunt through thick cover with no chance whatsoever to observe an animal closely enough to know if it is a nice rack (if you hunt for antlers), or if it is legal (three points a side, or whatever)?

I respectfully disagree with you, and I am quite certain that bullcoon, whom we both respect, would NOT agree with your contention that he is harvesting, not hunting, if he shoots an animal in an alfalfa field........

for me it has to do with the personal ethics surround hunting over a planted food source, whatever the foodsource was planted for.

Bullcoon is open to his opinion, so are you, as am I

Please tell us your definition of hunting?

Does it involve driving down a dirt road and then jumping out and shooting a moose or bear?

You have defined for us what you believe to *not* be hunting, so please tell u s what *is*?

On second thought I don't suppose its any worse than baiting bears but I still think it takes away from the "fair chase" aspect of hunting.

and what have you done to help to preserve the abundance of the healthy deer populations? if you have not planted a healthy crop...... you done #### all.... do you hunt?how many deer have you shot?..what have you done to help replace the ones you have taken?
