A family man? I bet his "family" live in a cabinet in the gun room!Well, I bit the bullet and am having a new 4 bore rifle side by side made. Ken Owen from Tenn is making it for me. The only bad thing is, it is going to take about 18 months to be completed. Oh well,I am now broke forever, but I am still very excited to have one coming. It really gives me something to look forward to...
... he builds from scratch. He is located in Moscow Tennessee. He has been a gun builder for a long time. My 4-bore side by side will be left handed and have 24" barrels, it will weigh 26 1/2 to 27 lbs. It can handle 2000 grain 1" diameter bullets at 1400 to 1550 ft/sec. It is a big heavy gun, not the most practical, and takes close to 1,000 hours to build. I have alot of big bore stuff and have been shooting big bore guns for about 25 years. It is one of the few guns to move up to after shooting my 700 nitro express Searcy double. I also have a 600 overkill and a 585 wells magnum. The 4-bore will be 3" wide at the top of the receiver and at the beginning of the barrels.
I have not been to Africa but hope to go some day. I have to pay for my rifle first. That will take a while for me, as I am a working family man and don't have unlimited funds like some guys are lucky enough to have.
