Shortly after the Colt Woodsman had reached the apex of its popularity in the mid-1920, a small holster making outfit out of California offered up a unique, well-made steel and leather holster which could quickly be slipped off the wearer's belt and attached solidly to the butt of the Colt it was carrying moments earlier.
The owner now had what was effectively a short barreled carbine. Once the shooter was done, they slipped the gun out of its stock, hooked the big steel loop on the back over their belt, and holstered the Colt.
The logo shows N-S, for Neal Schaefer of Ventura, California, and says it was patented 1925. Somehow I've managed to stumble across a couple of them, one VERY GOOD, and the other also VG except for some wear on both upper corners.
Since I no longer own the Colt I'm offering one of them now at an online gun auction down here. Should I put them on something like eBay in order to reach the Canadian Colt collecors? Since it is NOT a gun, eBay will let us list holsters and stocks.
