Back to the topic, I guess the AUG is not an easy system to make right. It took the Australians awhile to figure that out, only after they got Steyr directly involved. They thought they can just got the TDP and run with it.....and MSAR screwed up when they figure out the plastic stock clam shells were welded too tight ( which choke the the guts that go inside)

The Malaysian AUG is simplifed in someways. At the end of the day, I suspect their manufacturing system is not capable of maintaining the consistent QC needed to make AUG - kinda like DPMS ARs vs real Colt M4s. And also, the larger reason might be something to do with Money matter with Steyr.

And if that is the problem, their homemade M4 is not going anywhere either
 
When was the last time an Italian citizen or a German was responsible for a terrorist attack?? Oh right, its always been a Muslim. More accurately, some radical "Muslim" type. Its called profiling, and it works. The numbers don't lie. There is a reason for statistics Canada, and it isn't for tracking consumer trends. Personally, all religions are nothing but bullsh*t designed to control large populations by offering a common goal(heaven) through strict adherence to "gods" rules. Without religion, most conflicts would have been avoided.

Are those who wish the world harm ill equipped without modern hardware? No, they have plenty of hardware without our help. However, introducing even more options only adds to the problem.

For those who never heard of Malaysia before, it was Malaysian contingent armoured cars that were used in Mog to rescue trapped US Rangers in Black Hawk Down.

I am somewhat surprised that Malaysians would choose M4 for their army as the Malay govt traditionally is not very pro US and prefers to hang out with Muslim countries and other non alliance 3rd world tin pot dictatorships. Iran nutcase Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is currently being warmly received by the Malasian govt in Kuala Lumpur as we speak. Malaysian air force also opted to buy Mig 29s from the commies rather than western fighters.

The Malay govt is known to be corrupt and racist towards its non Malay population that is quite typical in that part of the hood. The country is currently mired in a power struggle between two political parties headed by 2 former friends turned enemy. There are some dark clouds on the horizon in that region. So stay tuned.

HK? I don't care who makes the product but if it works better then we should consider it's efficacy not the political ramifications that go along with it.

I shot a C-7A2 on automatic at ten yards. I got only two rounds out of five on target. I have shot an entire thirty round magazine from a G-36K on automatic at fifteen yards and got all the rounds in a small circle measuring no more that five inches.
HK? I wouldn't care if it said Norinco as long as it was a good weapon.
 
Pakistanis contributed tanks. Malaysians chipped in with their armoured cars but they had to be 'persuaded' at gun point to get them leaving their compound and into the meat grinder street.

Kinda makes you wonder about the Americans though. They won't ship to a friendly country like Canada but they will allow a foreign semi friendly country the means to turn out M4's and to sell to civilians. Kinda shoots the worried about weapons falling into the wrongs hands stance in the foot. :onCrack:

I will rescind my comment about people who do indeed consider all Muslims as raghead terrorists.......everyone is indeed entitled to one's own opinion.

Therefore, is it also MY opinion(not a fact nor my doctrine as an appointed official of BS) that if a large majority of Canadians choose to be stereotyping fools, that would be disappointing....Then again, no country is perfect.

I think it is safe to say we should get back on topic...

For the record, while I was careless in having two grammatical errors in my original post, there were no spelling mistakes.
'Realise' is spelt with 's' in proper British English. 'Z' is an American change. Canadians use whichever they feel like....

The US already allow Colt Canada makes Colt firearms under license in Canada for approved military and police end use, now they are going to do the same thing in Malaysia. Who said anything about Malaysia selling them to civilians? The US always controls end-use of its defence technologies, I see nothing to indicate otherwise here.
 
Does Colt Canada still hold the rights for ARs in NATO and Commonwealth?

Would this deal be through Colt or Colt Canada?
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know Colt bought Diemaco back as Colt Canada.)
 
Does it really matter that it is an M4 or a Colt.
I'm sure they could make their own AR. And it would kill things just as dead as the others.
Lets see Colt try an enforce 'Patents' in Malaysia.... Not a chance.
