So, guy at ATF processing my form 6 sent back a few questions (first time ever in 10 years for me)

Dear Applicant,

Some of the firearms listed on your ATF Form 6NIA application are either Restricted in Canada or could not be positively identified as being Unrestricted. If you can show evidence that all the firearms on your application are Unrestricted, we will proceed. Otherwise, in order process your submitted ATF Form 6NIA application, please provide the following:
1. A copy of your Possession and Acquisition License showing you have Restricted privileges,
2. a Firearm Registration Certificate for each firearm listed on your application, and
3. an Authorization to Transport your firearms from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

anyone else run into this yet or am I just special?

To me, it's logical for ATF to be interested in those documents, and it could be that some applicants were not in the habit of providing that information proactively, but I always did.

(Without being asked.)

Been going to US for matches for over 25 years and was there when Form 6 requirement started about 20 years ago.

I have only ever provided a match invitation with the Form 6 application.

So something appears to be changed but nothing on their website or Form 6 instructions ask for this.

I just received my Form 6 on Feb 8th I was not asked any of those questions. I have a mix of restricted and non-restricted firearms listed on it.

I am just preparing mine so we will see if this happens or not.

Just to clarify, I did not get those questions yet, just copied what cchaddock posted above.

Latest request from the person Im dealing with at the ATF

Good morning,

This is regarding your ATF Form 6 NIA application. I will need the address added to each manufacturer before continuing. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Very Respectfully,

So I replied to his email with "Manufacturer of the firearms or ammunition"

His response was "All manufacturers"

So my response after that was "Why are you requesting all of these changes? I have used the first form I sent 3 times previously without any issues or further requests? What’s changed? Nobody else I know applying for this form is going through any of this.
After further consideration, I have decided to withdraw my application for the Form 6. It's not worth all of this aggravation I'm going through for the 2 matches I was planning on shooting."

Life is too short to have to deal with people likes this.

The address of the manufacturers have always been a requirement.

With the internet, it's not difficult to find the address of record for each respective manufacturer.

Even before the internet, all that information could be found at your local library.

Uh, I’ve done that for every one I’ve ever submitted. I’d be surprised if they actually do anything with that information or verify it but I’ve never had one rejected.

Just applied for my Form 6 NIA renewal and set out an email for my annual ATT renewal for March to October to Coutts border crossing, waiting patiently!

Ya good luck with that. You won't get your att until you have the approved form 6 and you won't get your form 6 approved until you provide your att.

The CFO has sent an email saying they are working on this issue.
