I was talking to a couple of you guys about this awhile back in another thread but I cant find it now, so... Ill make a new thread.

I had the bright idea of starting to prep about 900 Lake City 223 brass and after about trimming 25-30, I was done. Most of this brass had a oal of 1.77 and I swear some felt like they were over 2". heh Anyways in the old thread we were talking about hooking a drill up the trimmer and letting that do the work instead of hand cranking. I dont know what took me so long but I finally went out and got the parts to make it happen. Bought a Mastercraft cordless screwdriver on sale a CndTire awhile back and all I needed to make it work was a 5/16x24 nut and a 1/2 driver socket thingy. :p

All I can say is that I should of done this a looong time ago. It makes life so much easier. Sometime in the future Ill rig up a better setup but for now it works pretty good.

I tried just holding the drill but I liked it resting on this lil bag I had. It slides on the desk nice too. Only negative thing about this setup, is I crazy glued the nut in the socket and its a little off center so theres a little wobble when it turns. No biggie though. :)

I thought I would pass this along as I think there were a couple of guys thinking of doing this as well.

Once I get some new loads done up Ill have to check out my new chunk of steel I got.

I needed a big one because sometimes I cant see my own splashes. If any local guys need something I can get pretty much anything cut up on a plasma table. :)

Yep, will make life a whole lot easier.

Did you know there is a 3 in 1 Cutter head that will trim and deburr inside and outside in one operation????

Also, 12V driver... Think things are better now :)

Jerry

PS, then there is the outside neck turning attachment. With the driver, makes this chore childsplay... lots more goodies available to make case prep so much easier and faster.

I thought about that 3way cutter. Something down the line to look into for sure. Im looking forward to not having to neck turn by hand now, since last time my right arm was pretty sore from a whole lotta hand crankin. heh

This cordless screwdriver thingy could be a bit faster, so I agree that a 12v might be in the works here. We'll see after a fresh charge of this thing first. :)

Been doing like that for many, many years now...........works great !!!! Be sure to keep your shaft oiled, about every 75-100 cases, just a couple drops of 3-in-1 works fine or any motor or gun oil, as long as it is kept lubed you'll be fine.
