Found in a floor joist.

[new210/22]

Well, my friends found this in the floor while beginning renos on their new to them 50’s era home… They then called the RCMP to have it taken away. I still love them, but maybe a little bit less.

Any help on what it is?

What is it? A travesty of justice.

Some bolt action with a rattle can paint job. Can't make out what that shiny bit is at the front of the stock.

Looks more like a barrel band sling loop if you zoom in.

Good thing he had it hidden away then. Dont want a fine work of art to get stolen.

Either that, or it could be traced back to a homicide.

Bubba was no artist with a spray can.

Your friends must be fun at parties.

Add some red and it be almost the Barkhouse special. My wife grandfather loved camo painting stuff red, green and black. My guess to blend in the fall colours in around oak island.

Seems like they were afraid to touch it, or even get too close. Now they can probably expect to find some cached ammo, upon which I expect they'll abandon their home until the RCMP can call in the army ordinance disposal squad.

Friend of mine found a Webley Mk6 455 revolver completely coated in grease in a wall of his old farmhouse. Beautiful old gun when cleaned up. He didn't call RCMP. Why the hell would anyone? All those folks had to do was call someone with a PAL. Its a long gun, non restricted.
Someone commented firearms have been demonized for years so have gun owners as a group probably the most law abiding in Canada.
