Found in a floor joist.

Years ago my father started to build a house on some property he owned. He could not afford the bills and the contractor eventually had to take the property with a workman's lien. It was never occupied by the family. So imagine my surprise when the current owner found me decades later and gave me a black German handgun holster they found in a concealed space. OK, I'll take it off their hands but he could not have put it there. I can only surmise some occupant in the intervening period stashed it.

Have a relative that's retired now but used to be a contractor. Around 20 yrs ago, he gave me a box of very nice condition original .44 Henry rimfire ctgs that he found in a wall during a renovation. Just a small cardboard box with around 25-30 loose rounds sitting in it. Awhile later someone gave me $250 cash for them at a gunshow. Imagine his surprise when I later gave him the cash. He figured they didn't have much value.

NAA.

If only they had been telling stories like this at high school "career day" I'd have given more serious consideration to working in the trades.

A friend's father was a WW2 aircraft engine mechanic. At one point he had a Thompson smg hidden in the rafters, and was struggling to reassemble a Nazi pistol he'd "liberated" during the war. The father is long (like more than 30 years) dead now, and I have no idea what happened to the firearms. It didn't help that when they were sorting out the estate, the laptop computer with all pertinent info was stolen.
