Four AK-style rifles in Canada:
1. SKS-D/KD-accepts AK mags, distantly looking like AK, extreme reliability. Relatively cheap. 1000CaD with all mods, plus time
2. VZ58-closely resembles AKM, but proprietary mags only. Just OK reliability/ durability. A bit expensive. 1500CaD with these mods, plus moderate time
3. T81-somewhat AKM looking, but AK mags need modification to be used. Good reliability/ durability. A bit expensive for its overall quality. 1000CaD. No mods.
4. M10x-modern AKish look, some new features, accepts AK mags, but no reliable BHO option. Feels like a beautiful greenhouse flower gentle rifle. Really expensive for what you get for that price. 1700-2000CaD. No reliable BHO, magpul stock missing one of the QD mounts (it is extra), the pistol grip is missing the cleaning kit (it is extra) and come on-no sights included (I'd expect sights to be included for that crazy price and core features missing by design).
