Fourth Double Gun Classic (Side by Side Get Together)

That is quite the lineup John. Maybe the 2018 Best Gun award will going home with you???? Looking forward to seeing them next Saturday.

Patrick, thanks but would be happier still to come home and tell my wife I shot well, met some great folks, saw some interesting guns, and had a good time. I don't shoot a lot of skeet so making a good showing more important than fanciest gun. Besides, Mr.'s CB, Dube, Pinfire (and others) are bound to have some surprises!

Hello Gents,

Looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday!

I will be bringing mu tools to measure bored and wall thickness.

Also bringing all the items I have listed on EE, maybe we can set up a table just for "for sale" goods...

Hats off to Patrick, Rick and all who helped out to make this the best shoot yet. Weather started a bit cloudy and blustery but quickly transitioned into calm winds and blue sky.

We had the best collection of guns yet, in particular a stunning display of circa 1860ish pinfire shotguns, an equally beautiful group of slightly newer hammer guns and not one but two "between the wars" Purdeys. A lightweight Churchill style game gun and, if I have it correctly a more substantial live pigeon gun.

Other well known makers represented were Holland, Boss, Lancaster, Wesley Richards, Greener and many more. A great time was had by all.

What a great get together.
Thanks Patrick and Rick.
By a country mile the best showing was hosted by Stephen "Pinfire". What a great table and such a knowledgeable gentleman and pleasure to speak with.
Note to self: next year allot half as much time to shooting and spend twice as much time just chatting with the guys like Stephen, Mark, James, Oscar and others. I guess someone will blab soon that I won best gun but fact is there were many better guns however the Jeffries set stood out as being unique. Certainly was not the highest condition nor highest quality gun in the field. I shot two out of four of my guns well, had excellent squad mates, and looking forward to next year.

Bravo and thanks to the organizers of this event, which was very enjoyable and informative! There were stellar guns on display, and the camaraderie was outstanding.

There is always something new to learn in this field!
