Frangible..Coyotes?

I agree with Rotax. Its more about where you hit it... not what you are hitting it with. Heck some folks on this site swear by FMJs for coyotes! I would go with what shoots the best out of your rifle, build some confidence at the range and then start dropping 'yotes.

I don't need confidence for how we hunt them, run them run in trucks..hop out and spray...they get really messed up.

Although I a good shot out to about 800 meters with my buddies 300 win.

Is that there legal in yer neck o' the woods buddy? Lot's of guys around here doing that with snowmobiles and some are getting caught. Definitely illegal on PEI to chase any wild animal with a motorized vehicle.

I think its legal to drive down a road, spot them, get out and shoot them.

The spot where we go is Police free. There has never been a RCMP or anything for as long as my friend has been there.

But yes, everyone in the whole region follows the hunting laws.

You call THAT hunting? :( Why not run them to exhaustion till you can hit them over the head with a bat then you can get out and stand on top of the Yote to ensure a clean kill with a shot through the head?

If the yotes "get really messed up" with how you are doing it now, who cares what a frangible bullet will do? In fact I'd suggest switching to a .22 rimfire for a bit more challenge. You already have the complete lack of hunting morals out of the way so why not go whole hog?

Don't get me wrong, Ihave NO problems with spotting coyote from the vehicle and then getting out and shooting them, but running them down?

"...before using FMJ..." Commercial FMJ's are not the same thing as military ball. The jackets are much thinnner. They're made for hide hunting. Or course, hunting with milsurp ball is illegal nearly everywhere.

I usually don't even bother trying to kill anything unless it is at least 1200-1800 metres from my position, and only then with my 12 gauge shooting flares, single handed, terminator style, resting the barrel of the shotgun on my right handlebar, speeding away from the target on my harley, over bumpy ground, blindfolded.

Seriously.
