A frangible bullet is one that is designed to disintegrate into tiny particles upon impact to minimize their penetration for reasons of range safety, to limit environmental impact, or to limit the danger behind the intended target. Examples are the Glaser Safety Slug and the breaching round.Frangible bullets will disintegrate upon contact with a surface harder than the bullet itself. Frangible bullets are often used by shooters engaging in close quarter combat training to avoid ricochets; targets are placed on steel backing plates that serve to completely fragment the bullet. Frangible bullets are typically made of non-toxic metals, and are frequently used on "green" ranges and outdoor ranges where lead abatement is a concern

All international orders require a signed purchase order, either an import certificate or signed letter from you verifying that import certificates and permits are not required, and an end-user statement. Once these forms are submitted it typically takes 1 - 2 weeks to receive the export license. The export license fee is 10% of the total of all items on the purchase order that require an export license.

Unlike traditional ball lead projectiles, which ricochet or fragment into large pieces, SinterFire® frangible, lead free projectiles literally crumble to dust upon impact with surfaces harder than themselves. SinterFire® projectiles are perfect for close quarter steel plate shooting and tactical operations. A full embodiment of a proprietary lubricant provides increased velocities at reduced pressures, reduced bore wear and minimized bore fouling. The molded-in taper crimp design provides bullet/case retention and promotes functional reliability. WTP=Wide Taper Point.
JR at the "Shooting Edge", has true Law enforcement frangible ammo by RUAG. It is very expensive and has a specific purpose. Anti personel with no secondary projectiles.. Meaning you can engage a soft target in a crowded area..like a hostage situation...and the bullet will not leave its intended target....I believe its call "Stix" in .308
Barnes MPG bullets are true frangibles. As are Barnes Varmint Grenades (though not against varmints from what I've read; still disintegrate against steel.)
I've seen Varmint Grenades at many retailers and MPG's are available from cabelas.ca (don't know of any sponsor retailers specifically that sell them.)
