Hi Moe, brand new to the site, so if this too old of a post to ask questions on, please forgive me and let me know so I do not make that mistake again. I always used 105grain soft lead bullets at .327' and got some good FPS at around 750-760fps as well as really good accuracy. I wanted to ask if you found that 3.5 grains of Unique to be safe pressure wise, or did you end up dropping it? I always used Bullseye, and had wondered about Unique and I have to say those are some impressive velocities, and the energy would be about 160ftlbs, also impressive. As I get older I have learned quite a bit more about the antiques and can really appreciate them more now. Thanks for your time.Bad weather coming in this weekend so I booked it to the range today after work.
I loaded 3.5gr of Unique for both my Lead Round Nose 106gr powder coated (been doing this load for the last year) and the newly acquired Plated Berry's Round Nose 100gr.
The LRN averaged 825 FPS and the Berry's were only 635 FPS.
I think I will bump the LRN load up to 3.6gr and the Berry's up to 3.7 and see how that goes. Was really fearing a squib with those Berry's. They were really accurate though.
Cheers
Moe
