Frustrated/feeling defeated

Thanks for the tips everyone. Agreed that Steyr .22LR is pretty sweet looking, and the couple in the EE are also pretty sweet. From the looks of clubs around ON withing GTA driving distance I better secure a membership somewhere before moving on any of these though. Every club seems to be full. Wow frustrating, should have kept up my membership at the old place.

Matt
We have members driving from Toronto and area to our club in Milverton; we still have spaces available. Listowel is taking members also I think.

We have upwards of 2-400 ppl apply to mine every year for the past 1/2doz yrs or so. We average anywhere between 6-10 new members yearly after background checks and in person interviews.

Too many TC (tactical cowboys) in all disciplines in the past doing stuff not allowed on range has led the club to be more thorough in the selection process of late.

Which is your favourite? If you had to sell all but one, which would you keep?
That’s a hard one as they all have their own special appeal .It would be a toss up between the Ruger and the Steyr with the Steyr winning out mainly because the serial number has my birthdate in it lol. Both the Anschutz and the krico are special for great quality and having double set triggers though not normally used for rabbit hunting and the Ruger fits me the best and has that big rifle feel

I used to be a member at Twin City not too far from Milverton. Originally from Kitchener… both Milverton and Listowel would be clubs I’d fit in at moreso, but the drive is def a stretch. Thanks for the heads up!

Which club are you at? I’ve seen some vids online from various morons doing dumb crap, anything for views I guess. Personally I’d love to get rid of all devices except desktop.

A new member would need at least 1 member in good standing to sponsor them; once accepted as a member, they must attend mandatory club level safety training. They must also demonstrate competence in both safe handling, and hitting paper. We have video surveillance of the grounds and our indoor and outdoor range.

We also enforce our rules, so problem members (very rare) don't last long, as access with electronic fobs can be easily turned off.

If someone wants to be a tacti-cool cowboy and do mag-dumps until they are broke, they need to do so safely and competently. They can also do so safely at our club level IDPA type matches that we hold during the warmer months.

You can be a Fudd or an Operator, as long as you follow the rules.

We have a family group of three who come dressed as "Ron Spommer" right down to the hats. Others show up in camo. Whatever floats your boat. :)

Ya we do all that, as I’m sure other Clubs do. However sometimes people slip through and cause issues. We deal with it promptly as you suggested and those that get caught up in the moment usually are looking for a new Club in short order.
