FS2000 flat top or optic model?

Flat top: choose your own optic.

This is my principal criticism of the Tavor; it can only be had with a short range CQB type sight that adds unnecessarily to the cost if you want to mount something else.

Flat top.
Give me a price, and a ballpark delivery date, and the deposit is on the way.
Patiently waiting for my FN SCAR-L to show up......

Optic model has traditional F2000 look. and optic model actually has rail under the optic housing, so win-win.

kodiak, i like your approach. you should also silence those asking about odd caliber versions by promising .30-30 and .222 Remington models :)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, they will all be in 303 savage. Start hoarding now!

If you are bringing them in what would the barrel length be and then classification (Restricted or Non-restricted?)

Barrel length is 17.4" - therefore restricted.

If you take the optic off, you get a plastic rail that sits lower than the rail on the tactical model and almost complies with STANAG specifications. Some people have had no problems with using that to mount their optics (well, one guy mounted a flashlight).

I'd recommend the flat-topped model.
The aluminum rail on the flat-topped model doesn't sit too high to begin with, so this is a non-issue.

With the optic model, if you want to take off the stock optic, and put on an acoc or similar with short eye relief, you'll have a cheek weld on top of the action cover (aka 'toilet seat') - not much fun. You'll just be limiting in the scopes you can run.

Nothing a LaRue cannot solve.

The optic model is stupid - it is a POS 1.6X scope of the 70's technology decorated by a space ship l plastic cover. The only people got doped into buying it are commerical consumers and some 3rd country armies.

Guess what the Belgian and Slovenia military purchased- the flattop tactical model.

Its really too bad that they don't make this rifle in 6.8 or 6.5. I want a bullpup that I can use to hunt deer with. I guess I could always wait for the keltec RFB but this or the Tavor in one of those calibers would be better.

havent you heard, they will have it in .303 savage. that's better than any wild calibre demands.

optic model is perfectly suited for us then

Questar has been offering the factory FS2000 for several months now.

We have a "non-Restricted" version that we expect to start shipping by late January... custom 18.51" (470mm) barrel with 1/2x28 thread so you can install whatever 'standard' style AR muzzle device you want on it. Since this is only @ 1" longer than the factory gun you can barely notice the increase barrel length... but the "Non-Restricted" classification is a bonus :)

If everything goes as planned these will retail for $3,999.99 to $4,199.99 (not 100% sure yet)... but we will be taking advance bookings later this week on our website. Advance bookings will get the lower price estimate so even if they end up higher price your order will be locked in at the $3,999.99.

The FS2000 is available in both versions (with the 1.6x integral optic or the "Tactical" version with the picatinny rail flat top). Price is the same for either version.
