Thx for the offer,yes I'm in CGY and would love to play 3-gun,it looks like a blast(obvious pun intended)....unfortunately my casual interest in 3-gun is overwhelmingly trumped by my complete and commited lack of interest in jumping thru yet more legal hoops and inviting even further government intrusion into my bedroom for the sake of obtaining an RPAL.Perhaps if the govt came to their senses and would allow me to pack a sidearm while flyfishing in grizzly country I might feel differently?

At the end of the day,again,my mistake,in light of my new understanding of the definition of a Fudd,it would appear I'm not a Fudd after all,just a guy that likes and owns guns....lots of guns....all types of guns....practical guns,fun guns,precision guns,HD and battle guns....but if I had to pigeon hole myself,I'd guess I'd say I identify myself more so as a hunter then an operator.....that said,when the SHTF,with 40+ years of avid hunting of both predators and prey under my belt,I've learned a thing or two about shooting straight,shooting fast,survival,evade and escape,and hiding in plain sight.....jest sayn. ;)

grinrgrn, you're not a FUDD at all. Not having black tacticool guns isn't what being a fudd is. A fudd is a gun rights traitor, and you seem like anything but.
 
Fudd, an anecdote.

I recently found an old registration card for a browning rifle of some sort. 70s I'd say.

My uncle had obviously filled it out. It had check boxes for a survey on what sorts of firearms you'd be interested in buying.

There were polite little ticks for the check boxes for bolt action, single shot, lever action, and a big "NO Way!!" Next to the semi auto category.

This is a man who will wax on about all of the milsurps he used to own and love, including the Garand and the M1 Carbine that he admits to packing, loaded, in his car when he was driving down lonely highways at night. He has fired machine guns and Real assault rifles, and if Army Surplus sold it in the 50's through the 80's, he's had at least one of it.

This is a man who gave me an emphatic NO IT'S NOT! When I was considering buying my .223 wanting father a mini 14 and opined that it was an interesting rifle because it was basically an M1 Carbine redesigned for .223 - he hates the mini 14, the SKS and it was months before I bothered telling him I had bought an AR, because a lecture I did not need.

This is a man who very much thinks that if semi automatics and handguns were prohibited, that the government would leave the rest alone.

Pretty sure that he'd rather see the owners of such guns not owning any firearms at all.


What I am getting at here is that a TRUE Fudd is very much akin to a self loathing closeted ### man who hates anyone that is Out and happily poncing around like a fruit.

They are the ultimate kill joys who have forgotten how to have fun with a gun.



Anyone here fit that profile?


I've seen a whole lot of attitude here, but I don't know that I've yet seen a true Elmer.
 
I own everything from wood and blued hunting rifles to black guns and handguns. I've been through the whole banning phase when I lived in the UK, and my definition of a Fudd is a hunting rifle/shotgun owner who is deluded enough to think that the RCMP or Liberals banning black guns or pistols doesn't affect them.
The cops and gov't will not be happy until all guns are banned, including ones nibbled from toast by your kids. They will not stop at black guns, their hatred of their fellow man runs way too deep for that.
 
I don't get it.... This rant was the most hypocritical post I've seen in my life. I hate any gun owner/ shooter who has s discipline that they enjoy, and talks crap about the ones they don't like. Same goes for hunters who cry bow/rifle/buck/fawn etc. We are all on same team. But you my friend.... You made 30 comments making fun of the tacticool crowd, in the same sentence talk about unity? Lol.

If its goes bang, i own/want it. Mosin nagant to tavor. The only thing I hate is .22lr. Absolutely, unequivocally, without a doubt the most boring thing I've ever shot that requires a pal to own. They should ban 22's.
 
I got called a coward for selling all my restricteds a few weeks ago. We eat our own and this is why the gun grabbers will win...

I wouldn't say "Coward" but I would be disappointed. I'm tempted to as well, at times, but I'd rather hedge my bets and keep at least one restricted that I wouldn't be too outraged to lose. The more of us there are, the harder it is to take them. So keep a token one, just because!
 
My reasons are not because of the stupid liberal government, I started selling all my restricteds before the election was even called. Im just tired of having to go to a range, Pay range dues. Deal with the hassle every 3-5 years when im posted. ect ect ect...

Once im retired from the military in 9 years, have my own house and a place I can truly call home you can bet your a$$ I will get an AR again. But I stand to lose way more with my NR black guns if they ever decide to play the ban game.

Selling those would be giving up. witch i'm not.

Not lost till we try a recovery operation and we are unsuccessful, I know where they are, bottom of okanagan lake. Not unsafe storage, they had trigger locks on.
Recovery op is impossible at the moment, too cold, not set-up for dry diving.
