Full out tactical SKS build

$400 approx.? Russian. Have a look at this scope mount. It is a Made in Canada option. No affiliation. Have a look at this custom stock in the USA.

You must need balls of steel to fire that thing with your face that close to the breach on an SKS. Mine spits casings in every possible direction between straight up and 90 degrees to the right, completely at random.

From experiecne (shooting other peoples wonky "upgraded" SKS's :D) I can tell you OP that there is next to nothing that you are going to add to an SKS that will make the rifle better than what it already is in its natural skin.

That also being said, it's your gun and your money, go full retard!

Don't expect to get your money back though when you get tired of all the junk barbie accessories though lol You'll end up selling the SKS in stock configuration and be left with a bunch of crappy plastic that nobody wants in the end.

I dropped mine into an ATI stock for the simple reason that the original stock is too damn short and I would need at least one extra joint in my arm in order to get a proper grip and shoulder mount. I also added a Vortex Strikefire and forward grip and got a second bayonet that I am eventually going to cut down so that it will fit and fold up underneath properly, it will probably look dumb as hell with a 6" inch blade, but whatever it's just an SKS.

With that amount of money you could have bought an other SKS along with some ammo and shot the sh!t out of them...

2000 rounds and counting so far! Ive got a $700 sks and i love it! It will always be in my collection untill i wear it out then ill buy another and swap on my parts.

Seriously though, my build focused on the inner workings, I put a Murray sear, wolff springs and extended mag release, murray firing pin and spring, cleaned the carrier rails, then added Tech 200 peep sights. Once the mechanic were then and the thing shot well, did the looks. First, I added an ATI stock with TAPCO gas block, then laser, flashlight. Then I took it all of as it weighed a ton. NOW it has an ATI monte carlo stock, no lasers, or flashlights but I built a flush 5 round mag and added an M1907 sling. It is now a light, short bush hunting rifle and pretty accurate one out to 100.

I have a box full of original and aftermarket crap, I can change the appearance to suit my mood or shooting event. That by the way, is the whole purpose of owning an SKS. No mater how it looks it is a safe mechanical shooter.

How do you like the archangel stock? It's the tactical stock I like the most, pretty clean looking. I'd like to do the same and keep my 53 laminate in stock trim but have a second in the archangel with a red dot and the BC tactical mount. Nice and simple not dripping with rails and scopes, it's an sks after all.

I really like my archangel stock. It does add some weight over the small Chinese wood stock, however the adjustable LOP, pistol grip and QD mounts are pluses for me. It felt more solid to me than the other aftermarket stocks I looked at. Noticed that they have even come down in price $20 since I purchased mine. All my ammo is non-corrosive in boxes not on stripper clips and wanted to try mags, so I also purchased a small mag and one larger one. So far they have worked well with no problems. I am unconcerned about speed of reloading etc as I am not being shot at or trying to eliminate a stampeding zombie hoard. The fit on mine is snug but no modifications were required. If you do get one, be sure to keep a look out for the two aluminum replacement gas piston cover pins. I initially didn't see mine and they almost got tossed out with the packaging.

You guys dug up a thread that died in November last year, and are talking to a blank wall. The OP hasn't posted since then, so unless he's just been lurking, I don't think he's been back since his last post.
