Fun idea - .50BMG....

Its ugly to some I'm sure, but I love the raw mechanical aspect it has.

Curious where you heard this. I know Savage looked at doing this several years ago, but to the best of knowledge the project has been "on the back burner" for a few years now.

It's a pity, even if Savage did make a .50, we wouldn't see them north of the border!

I go to the US a lot on business, I go into some of their gun stores the odd time and almost all have lots of 50's for sale. I was drooling over an Armalite .50 in Texas a couple of weeks ago, it was brand new, priced at $2899.00!!

I'm dying to see what SFRC may be bringing out in .50 BMG!!

I'm close to "pullling the trigger" and buying a new .338 LM, but feeding a .50 BMG vs a .338 LM is close in cost, plus a .50 BMG would add just that little bit more of "entertainment" when shooting it.

I'll have to check back here in a week or two to see what's up.w:h:
 
I would hardly say shooting just regular 50 is fun .. while the firearms are awsome ALL the fun ammunition to shoot out of it is pathetically "prohibited" here..

Armor piercing incendiary/tracer , incendiary tracer , spotter-tracer etc .

LOL. I was up to their store last monday, and while there, I watched one of the guys struggle to set that monster of a gun up on the counter.:D

Tracer ammo is not illegal here, theres a reason why its nearly impossible to get here, but you can always make your own =D and not to hard. Always wanted to try it, but no time.

Im not talking about regular plain tracer rounds , all of these above rounds explode/ignite on impact with a hard object usually producing a loud bang/flash
