Marlin 795 gets my box.
Out of the box, way more accurate than a 10/22, and at a fraction of the price. Very reliable as well.
If you want to spend the rest of your life tinkering with it and modding and and spending $1K + over time to try and make something as accurate as your $200 Marlin was out of the box, get a 10/22.
p.s. Yes, I do have both. The 10/22 was the single most disappointing gun purchase (out of 40+ gun purchases) I've made in the past 3 years.
