He gots more :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: on that vest then most combat soldiers. And look at that ar. more tactical :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: then anything useful.

he has Magpul flip up's, a T1, and a SF light...thats pretty light compared to some LEO set ups...I do however agree on the vest, its a little overkill...

What's the issue? It's not like he's got to hump all that gear around all day. Might as well carry the just in case stuff if he's only got to wear it for an hour.

The only thing I can see wrong with the picture is that his carrier is hanging too low on the front. Quite a bit of his lungs are exposed.

What a rediclous thread. He's a cop wearing whatever hear works for him. I'm sure he isnt wearing his ripstop 5.11 and Blackhawk gear for all those tough tactical paper target changes at the local range. The mall ninjas on these sites should be run off. Now get going... The postman just delivered your latest " black guns" magazine and Moms calling you for dinner. I think the Clearisil has soaked into your blood stream

Like what? I see a light, flip up sights and a RDS. The whole set up is probably the dept set up and if not then dept approved.

As for his clothes I'm going to hazard a guess and say he was called in at the last moment for an important call.

It's spelled, ridiculous.

Not going to comment too much on the vest...lot of stuff there but maybe it's got to serve many roles. Colour seems appropriate to the surroundings. Who knows what his job within the department is?

The AR setup is pretty reasonable. Short AR, Aimpoint Micro is nice and light, light on the thing for target ID, KX3 will hopefully tame the short AR down a little for the guys next to him.

Bottom line from my perspective...he's doing a lot more worthwhile stuff with his guns and gear than I am. I don't feel I have the right to criticize his choices, at least not without knowing his obligations and requirements.

I won't even comment on the amount of stuff he has, maybe like has been pointed out it's what he had when deployed. An issue I could see would be the inaccessibility of that med pouch, unless it has a velcro backing (which has its own issues). I'd have moved the drop pouch to the fast mag, and put the med pouch down a few more inches.

Also, a grenade pouch? I really hope there is some sort of non-lethal device in there shaped like a grenade. . . otherwise someone is quite a hard charger

He probably has that vest stowed in his car/locker to throw on a moments notice if needed.

Consider it his tool kit. No different than a plumber or appliance repairman. He has a job to do; he puts his vest on, grabs his rifle, and he has most every thing he needs to carry out his task. Color is irrelevant as long as it is a good quality rig that works for him.

It was a "Bow and Arrow type weapon shooting" at a college in Wyoming, in case anyone is wondering.

Some of the ar's posted on this forum have more tacticrap on them then his. At least everything on his is useful. As for the ones posted on this forum with lights, lasers, handles all over the place, more sights then a person can use and more rails than you can shake a stick at are not needed to shoot some paper.

There might not have been a CGNer around to train him at the time he was trained for rapid intervention/ active shooter calls.

Being a cop, it can be tough to get the hard core training I need if there isn't a firearms enthusiast around to tell me how to dress.
