FX9 Questions

With genuine Glock mags I'd say yes. I never used them, but a buddy did in his FX9 and his Glock mags locked back 100% of the time after that. Some guys have tried stretching their Glock springs, not sure if that helped or hurt. I used PMAGs and KCI mags most of the time in mine, mostly because they were longer and easier to grab than my 10rd Glock mags.

Excellent.

I have some genuine Glock mags as well as some PMAGs & KCIs inbound.

The trick with mags seems to be the followers. The followers on the pinned regular capacity G17 mags (as in the ones that are made to hold more than 10 rounds) have a follower that sticks up a little higher. That seems to be the trick for consistent locking open.

It also does seem that some rifles are more picky than others for this.

The gun varies from one to another. All the Glock OEM mags I have failed to lock back the bolt after the last round. The only ones that do are the 10/32 mags from SHK mags from Korea. Other mags from Korea did not. Go Figure. I have two uppers and both react the same way as to locking back the bolt. I have given up on trying to find the cause. When competing in Canada I will use the SHK mags for the first 11 rounds and then switch to glock OEM for the reloads. That would give me 21 rounds to shoot stages with a max. number of rounds set at 18 for IDPA. In the US, where there is not a 10 rd limitation I will use the 32 rounders in the higher capacity PCC Division.

Merry Christmas to All,

Bob
