FYI Lotsa Garands at Tradex again.

Not as nice as the last batch. And the same prices.
Where did these come from?
With the yellow wood/repairs and highly worn finish these look a lot like some of the Turk return rifles on the CMP forums.

One seems to have a Hackberry wood stock. CMP is using Hackberry wood on Turk rifles that are in need of new stocks.
After looking at the worn finish and the sanding marks along with the varnish and yellow looking wood on some, these may be Turkish returns. They certainly look like the rifles on the CMP forum.
And if you think these are rough, the Philippine Garand's are supposedly much, much worse.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I can't wrap my head around Garand prices these days, but they sell so obviously there's enough demand. I'd still take one of these over a JRA build any day, but if you just want a shooter I get it.

LOL! I remember looking at a barrel of Garands that P&D and Milarm were trying to flog. I think they were like 4 for like $500 as I recall not a lot of guys were touching them then Saving Private Ryan came out... Granted these were Bredas...

Wow... quite a few have already sold in the last few hours. Wonder where they got this large a batch?

Most look to be nothing-special refurbs - most of the wartime bbl dates are already gone. But they have USGI barrels, and most people will pay a premium for that over an Italian-made M1.

I have no doubt they will sell out quickly, despite my having no desire to buy one at that price.

I'm finding it hard to understand how they are selling at that price ? there were 5,400,000 give or take manufactuted. for $1000 more you can find a Johnson. there were only 70,000 of those made.

Just looking back, glad I bought a Districorp Special Select Winchester Garand for $295.00 in 1995 and a complete M1D for $1100.00 in 2001.

I need a time machine again! Yee-haw, Ride em Cowboy!

I also managed to buy from Districorp back in the day. Got a Winchester M1D for around $700. In the end, while it was a very effective rifle at the milsurp matches, it wasn't an Enfield so we parted ways. I have very little desire to pick up another Garand, and especially not at those prices. But to each his own.....

The Districorp M1d Garand sets were the best Garand deal going.
To bad the majority ended up as parts kits. That is why they stopped
selling them after a few weeks. They sold scopes, flash hinders from these guns also That didn't last either. One order and they stopped
