So I couldn't find a 336 or 335 Redding neck bushing for a long time, they were sold out everywhere. So I was using a 334 bushing for a long time, about a month ago I finally got 336 and 335 Ti Coated bushings in. I tied out the 336 first and last week used the 335 bushing. Turned out the 335 bushing had a square edge/lip on the inside of the radius cut and instead of resizing the bushing it was "shaving" the brass off the neck. The 336 and 334 bushing didn't have this issue at all. (Pictures below)

I contacted Redding and they said this;

Thank you for using Redding Reloading Equipment. I am sorry you are having trouble with you Redding Bushing. Please return your bushing to the address below and we will gladly replace it.

So I'd get the pleasure the shipping back a small bushing that won't fit in a standard envelope to the east coast of the USA from BC Canada costing me more $$$ and time. While I also wait weeks for shipping and processing time. All for a $30 item I just recently purchased.... not happy

I was disappointed with this because when I had issues with RCBS stuff and sent them clear pictures of what was wrong they immediately sent me replacement parts. Even when a bearing went on my RCBS Charge Master they told me to destroy it and email pictures of it destroyed and they sent me a new one in the mail. IMO that is good customer service.

Redding also wasn't quick with a reply to my email. I was getting impatient so I contact the place I purchased it from (X-Reload), while I was waiting for a reply from Redding. I didn't expect much from the reseller as its just a part that passes through their place, not something they make. The email I sent x-reload was;

Hello,

I was trying to use the Redding .335 Titanium Coated bushing I ordered from you and ran into an issue. The bushing has a lip/hard edge on the inside of the 335 bushing that is "shaving" brass instead of resizing it, wrecking the brass. the 336 size is performing correctly and doesn't have this problem, it's only the 335 that is doing this.

I attached some pictures to help explain what is happening.

Do I need to contact Redding directly to fix this issue or do I go through you?

Thanks
....

X-Reload sent me an e-mail back right away, I had a response from X-Reload a day before Redding bothered to respond. Their response was this;

Hello ....,

I will send one back to you today

Already talk with Redding about it and I will foward your pictures that are self explaining.

Thanks
...

--one hour later as second email from X-Reload--

There is your bushing leaving today by canada postexpidited

Got to say I'm disappointed in Redding's customer service, but I'm thrilled with X-Reload's customer service. They really stepped up for me, should have my replacement in a couple days.

I don't know what the big issue is, this bushing saves you the time by not having to neck turning and sizes in one easy step :)

I haven't ordered from them before but will have to have a look. Tks

They offered to send you a new one at no charge.

I don't see the issue.

X-Reload maybe went beyond the norm but Redding didn't do anything worthy of a negative comment.

Lee wanted me to pay half the retail cost of a die for a rebuild plus shipping, that was a tad less than stellar customer service.

I'd agree with you if I had used it at least 6 month before I had an issue. But the first time I used it I had this issue. It was 100% faulty directly from the factory, their QC should have caught this. Redding asking me having to spend $8 in shipping and wait weeks for something that should never have left the factory, on a part that retails for $30 is just sad. Having to pay another 26% of the price of the part to fix their mistake is sad.

Poop happens.

Many things we get right out of the store are faulty, QC isn't perfect ,it is still controlled by human action.

The retailer corrected it at their discretion, you aren't out money and have a working die.

Sounds like poor service form redding. I have contacted rcbs with stuff I have broken and parts were in the mail the same day for free. My hand primer wore out some parts and one email and parts on the way. Now that is service. Keep the customer happy and you keep the customer. My experience with redding dies wasn't that great wither so I stick with rcbs as they do the same thing and half the price.

In dealing with Redding on numerous occasions, please understand they are working on roughly a two month lead time. There are many more folks out there who are patiently waiting like you have for their product. Had you called and physically spoken to Roberta or Sarah - I'm sure you would have had a different experience.

Why does Redding ask for their product back? Because they strip it apart to ser what possibly went wrong to only further improve it. When the 17 Hornet dies first came out there were issues with the Redding dies... However, I worked with Reddingto make it up to all of my customers who were directly affected by it.

I sympathize with your frustration; however, I see no fault in Redding's request.

I see fault in their request. We are not their r&d monkeys, their guinea pigs, etc.if they wasn't the bushing back, I see no issue with that at all, but they should be sending a new one for free, and including a prepaid envelope to send the bad one back. Total garbage that they expected him to pay do that he could get their mistake fixed.

Thankfully x reload took care of it properly

Personally have never had an issue with Customer service of RCBS, Redding, CH4D, or many others I have dealt with stateside.

In the case you mention, I would have fixed that bushing in less than 10 minutes, and informed Redding about their slip.

Regards, Dave.

Shuuuuu...

Don't tell that Xreload have an out of this world customer service.

It's MY secret !
