Actually he has committed a crime. If one sets in motion a fraudulent act it doesn't actually have to dupe a victim for it to have been a crime.

IE: trying to intentionally cash a fake cheque at a bank but the teller doesn't fall for it = fraud charge.

Trying to sell fake guns on the EE is the same. Just because no one fell for it, it is still a fraud.

You still need to prove the gun doesn't exist. The reality in this country is that he will receive no punishment for his crime. This is lame a$$ Canada where no one is punished.

If a scammer offers a deal on a $500 new CZ, he can sell it many times in the same week. So he is not scamming a small amount.

when buying firearms (especially restricted) from a low rating user, or just maybe seems like a fishy deal, I just ask them to initiate the transfer before I send the money. Once I complete the transfer, then I send the money.

but you still have to be cautious. I hope this doesn't become viral.

the other scam is the guy could have sold the same gun to 10 people and none would be the wiser.... until 9 of them tried to finish the transfer.
