G36 10/22 stock at Shot Show

Couple of questions if I may.. maybe Killercane or someone else can answer.

Im assuming the kit only comes with one magazine shell? Are there more available and price?
Does this kit fit a .920 bull barrel?

My supplier doesn't have a price yet for spare mags.

I am told it does, but I have not tried yet so I cannot be 100% sure.

Hey Buda have you handled the Mossberg Tactical? What has more of a cheap feel to it: the Mossberg Tactical or the G36? I've heard things about the Tactical feeling like an airsoft, and just flat out cheap. Having handled Pro Mag stocks before they have been solid so hearing the G36 feel cruddy was a bit of a surprise.

Nope never handled a Mossberg Tactical or any other Promag stock, so in terms of that, I have no direct reference base, what I do know is that the stock (and rifle) were very very light in my hands and the plastic felt very cheap (like a toy gun with a semi-rough matte finish), if you can, please try and handle one before you buy, that way you'll know for sure if it is the quality you are looking for.

MSRP in the states is $199, should probably fall below $170 street price in a short time.

These kits should accept the heavy barrel. Alot of space in the forend.

Looking forward to having these kits in the not too distant future.

Will have a line of shorty McGowen match barrel as well. Threaded, heavy or 'tactical' profile, fluted, CM or SS - all possible.

I have a line on steel/alloy FH in the HK style. With a threaded barrel, that should make things very authentic looking.

12" has been a popular length but I wonder if the orig length of 18.5" is more suited to this kit. The video with, I assume, the factory barrel looks really well proportioned.

All lengths are possible - as long as the necessary steps are taken to meet Cdn laws for min overall firearms length.

For those that may not have handled a Promag chassis stock, I can say you will be impressed. These are miles ahead of what we consider 'plastic' stocks. They have been very rigid, durable, very nice molding and ergonomics. The material they use creates a solid part. The forend on the Archangel carbine (AR 15 looking kit) even rings similar to the alum rails.

I look forward to getting my numbers settled and if anything like past stuff, could be at or lower then the US MSRP pricing. We shall see...

I will carry spare mags and accessories as production allows.

mysticprecision,

will you be bringing in the sparta stock for the mini-14 as well?

I sure wouldn't mind getting one of those as well, in addition to a marauder stock :)

Jerry, you will have to do some measurements for barrel length to see what they had at the show. If that is an 18.5" barrel, then a 16" barrel would make a good C model replica.

Hey Ki11erCane
Just wondering about these 10/22 marauder kits..
are they made to accept bull barrels too? Im thinking of putting a dlask heavy barrel on there :)

Yes. We've gotten dealer pricing from Dlask so we plan on building them with bull barrels in the future.

JSYK the delivery date has been moved to March 1/2011.

Judging by the O.A.L on the package I think the shortest barrel you could use is a 16.5" to keep above 660mm to be non-restricted. Could be wrong though, pretty sure the RCMP don't consider the folding stock part of the OAL

I will be bringing all 3 of the new offerings - Marauder/G36/10-22; Sparta/mini14; JAE knockoff/ M1A.

As you can read above, the supply shuffle has begun. That is why I didn't want to say anything about ETA until I actually get a shipping invoice.

Demand will be goofy and who do you think is going to get their stuff first - MidwayUSA/Brownells/Stockys or me???????

Be patient guys. I am sure we will hear reviews on these as soon as they get to our southern neighbours in a couple of months or so. The last time there was an iminent shipment right after SHOT, I didn't see stuff till July.

We will get our stuff in time and hopefully, better pricing to boot.

Deckard, the promag stocks I have played with have been superb - and I am not just saying that.

The polymer they are using is similar to the stuff you find in Glocks, XD's and battle rifles. Very solid and the way they engineer the molding - stiff.

The promag target stock is as rigid as some of the mega dollar composites. You better believe I was surprised.

All the adjustable stuff has locked up solidly and worked just like any other major brand like Magpul.

The only 'weak' area is the rails which are of course, polymer. These will have more give then a true alum rail. But I have not had any issues for POA shift on my 10/22 (low recoil doesn't hurt).

Seeing this issue, the new stocks use an ALUM top rail that is bolted to the stock AND action. This will make for a rock solid set up.

If there is an Archangle carbine owner nearby, have a look. It is surprisingly good, especially when you consider the retail price.

If it could be removed, I would gladly put the adj stock on an AR. It is pretty much a magpul knockoff and as well built.

This is something im looking into it,i think the demand for this kit will have less hype than the marauder kit.

So my question's are,How much you will sell them and do you think you will receive it before the marauder kit ??

Thanks

As of right now, there is ZERO feedback from the Promag reps so I know no more then the info in this post.

I am sure they are working through their orders, confirming what is real and what volume their production can actually make.

Ordering raw material, etc and getting going.

I have heard that packaging was the bottle neck for one manf's product. So who knows what hurdles we will face until production is smoothed out.

When I get firm actionable info, I will be happy to post on CGN my findings.

For now, I am being patient cause I have been here before and.......
