G36 with Beta C-mag

Whatever, people are saying that it is $50 a round, but that is only if you throw the mag out after you finish it. I guess it could be as disposable as a stripper clip...

It all looks good!

Tell me about the difference/similarity between your G36P and a G36E. I've googled the P and can't find a lot of information. Who was it made for, etc?

Hey Koldt,

Didn't you used to own a full-size G36 a couple of years ago? If I remember correctly, the G36P was part of a limited Canadian G36 production run that CGN Whylook brought in several years back. I recall there were two runs scheduled and that the second got cancelled. There were some wierd rumours about some G36s squeaking through from movie production companies. But, if that is true, then I am sure this ain't one of them. I think the P refers the semi-auto trigger group. What might the P stand for in German?

Ah, well - whatever the cost - it is all relative :)

When you buy a $9000 gun - this is all a very silly topic to even mention in the thread in my opinion.

I got a better deal than the advertised price. It also included a ####load of accessories. When I factor out the price of the accessories, I actually did surprisingly well on it.

Mine is just a converted SL8. I'd love to own yours. Very cool.

I also got to get me a Classic Green to fit another Swiss "accessory".

Koldt, that's the best looking conversion I have seen. Did you get an actual G36 barrel, or did you get it milled? Looks authentic.

have you tried the launcher yet? :D

Damn theres some nice pics in this thread. The HK is on my list next.

Very nice gun.

Any possibility that letter P might be the importer's mark? It seems to look different (depth of impression in plastic, maybe?) on the photo then the letters G36 it is beside.

Must have been pricey. It wouldn't surprise me if people had $5K or more in a good SL8 conversion.

I recently sold on EE Bits and Parts a G36 lower (with the trigger group), rear end of demilled receiver, K stock, necessary pins, and stock block for somewhat better then 600$ that I was asking (and I was told that what I was asking was a heck of a good price). Recently a milled SL8 barrel was sold on EE for 1100$ in under 5 hours. So add in another $2K for a used SL8, some G36 mags, time spent doing research on how to do the conversion, labor to do the conversion (Silly things like black dye, epoxy, a tool or two that you don't have at the start of the project, etc), a proper barrel shroud and top rail (You, of course, would want the 3x optic plus the red dot 1100$ rail), and yeah, a good SL8 conversion starts costing easily over $5K.

The only trade-up, as I see it, is that you can buy parts for your conversion project gradually, instead of forking seven, eight, nine grand for an original G36 up front.

Myself, if I'd not have mortgage and schooling to pay for, I'd save up $9K over the course of a year, and just buy the real thing. *sigh*
