G3A3 with Pics!

Got my G3A3 today and took a few quick pics to share. It came with cleaning kit, leather sling and two mags.

As per the old firearms laws, the flash suppressor is welded on. Once upon a time kiddies, overall length could be made up by welding or pinning on a muzzle device. This was to allow the rifle to originally be sold as non-restricted, shoot anywhere.

Compared to my Israeli FAL, the G3 is lighter and shorter. The FAL is a beautifully made, elegant rifle. The G3 is a Teutonic war machine. Gotta love those Germans. Well, German/Spanish design anyway. The rifle was built by Enfield in 1974.

I would so love to shoot this rifle at my next Plate shoot, but no, it's too evil.

nice to see another Enfield G3..I have one also....I can't count how many times I was told I was Bull####ting....Enfield NEVER made G3's..the masses would say mine is a 66###XX serial number

I'd only heard of the Enfield G3's a couple years ago. I never asked the seller of this rifle what the maker was. I was looking forward to the surprise.

It's nice to see something other than M305's in the MBR forum for a change.

I agree......may just have to talk more about G3's FAL's and all the other bad guns we can own ..hell maybe even talk about real M14's hahaha

You mean there's other M14's than the Norinco ones? I thought they were the "real" ones.

here's a funny story..had a friend looking at my collection once...he looks over.......Wow nice looking Norinco M14 he says

he grabs it looks at the markings H & R on it

I love the G3, too bad I'm far too young to ever see one of those in my possession in any form other than a dewat. It's definitely my favorite of all the automatic rifles in the world. AR 15's are neat in a Lego sort of way, but to me the G3 (and the FAL too) demands full respect.

Ever try to field strip a G3 bolt 1st time around without the manual? You will need a PHD in engineering to figure out how it is supposed to work.

Very nice green stock G3 with the original slim tropical front handguard.

1.) Is it a prohib or can I dream of owning one someday?
2.) What's the E on the fire selector?

can't have one unless you have a 12x players card. The E is semi but I can't remember the acryonymn (or language) it pertains to.... "E" Einzelfeur...thats it.
