So I've got a line on some old milsurp Garand ammo, non corrosive, ball, all in charger clips and the bandoleers even. Whats this stuff worth?

Brand new ammo is around a buck a piece, why would milsurp command that?

You take a look at 7.62 milsurp lately? (you might with that fancey new toy of yours:p). Point is, what the ammo is worth, is usually always less then what its going to sell for.

But if it makes you feel better, fine, -.50 cents a round, he actually pays you .50 cents to take it!;):p

But really, those are usually the prices I see, or see quoted in past "whats this ammo worth threads" for Milsurp rifle ammo. Like I said, it was my awsomly great guess.

(man I am just bored, this is like the fifteenth post today)

Good point I suppose, the clips/bandoleers are the real bonus! I was going to quote around 75ish cents a rd. Thats me though, and Im going by what I have paid for milsurp 8mm mauser/.303 etc...

Garand ammo

It could also depend upon the dates of the ammo, the maker, the type, and packaging. An original ammo tin with Garand ammo in bandoliers would be worth a lot more than loose stuff.

National Match stuff for the Garand was loaded up until a few years ago. I have seen AP in Garand clips. I think it was in the mid-50s that the non-corrosive stuff was loaded by all the makers, as some corrosive ammo was still in use in the early 50s.

Back around 1972-3 the old Super S Drug store in Calgary was selling boxes full of AP ammo put up in en-bloc clips. I bought a bit at the time, but was already getting all the Cdn DA 55 ball I needed as a freebie from my "employer"-1PPCLI.;)

$1.00 per round at gunshows made by Lake City is pretty common. Military M2 ball. Just what you need to feed a Garand.

"...got a line on..." Buy it. You won't find any more though.
"...the mid-50s..." The U.S. military went to non-corrosive primers in 1952 for regular issue ammo. Of course, existing supplies of corrosive ammo still existed in U.S. National Guard armouries, etc.
