Garand ####!:)

I feel a great disturbance in the force.... you have 4 Garands, I have.... 0.

To maintain balance in the the force, you must now (not later), sell me on of your Garands. If you don't, the Universe most certainly will collapse upon itself.

That is all.

M1D as a shooter...works great

One of my shooters....came in as an SA M1D with a Danish replaced stock.....'51 Barrel shot so well I had a stock set made for it by DGR and fitted it to the rifle...shoots really well!

Here we go...

My three M1 Rifles.

Top to bottom...

JRA Garand.

SA Garand, rebarreled by the danish with a VAR barrel. This one holds a special place in my heart, this was the first firearm I ever purchased, and will never leave my family.

Hey Kevin,

That is an M1D not an M1C. The M1C's had the receiver drilled and tapped for the Griffon & Howe side mount base and the scope had quick release rings to attach it to the rifle. Your's has the pressed on barrel block that the M1D scope attaches to. Nice M82 scope! Don't see too many of those around.

They can still be found for a decent price. This one was $812 at my door not that long ago. A decent shooter on the EE was listed at $900 a few weeks ago.

'55 Breda, all matching except the stock which is from a Beretta. Has a tag inside the stock with the rifle's serial number though so it's as issued.

The 1942/52 Springfield M1D has all the accessories (Hart flash hider, M52 scope carrying case and leather cheek piece as well but not shown.

Cheers,

Ian

I noticed the M1D pictured above has the S.A. stamp without initials or crossed cannons. My stock is the same and I wondered what that's about? Also really like the tiger striped one :)

Wow.. great find

Patience, time, a little luck, an open wallet and an understanding wife is all it takes!

Twincam, thanks! I need to take the rest of the collection out on a sunny day this winter and so the same. I have some shots of my '42 Long Branch that I took in the Rockies a few springs ago that looked very nice too. Not enough gun cases to take them all up there though!

Okay, I'll play....

No idea how it got the C broad arrows on the stock. Bought it that way. Interesting though, eh?

NAA.

Could be one of the ones used in Lahr. Back in the 50's we used US kit to guard the bases.

Or it could just be faked. That happens too.
