Them's fightin' words - ESPECIALLY when you talkin' about the BEER!!!!! :p

Yes, the M14 as originally conceived is a great battle rifle platform, it's just not a great assault rifle (it's too heavy, the ammo is too heavy, and the recoil on full-auto is all but uncontrollable-that's why most of them were semi-auto only).
