I was cruising the American gun forums ( they have a few) and read that there was supposedly 5,000 Garands inbound to Canada this month.

They also said that artificial sweeteners were safe, WMDs were in Iraq and Anna Nicole married for love.

Yes, the M14 as originally conceived is a great battle rifle platform, it's just not a great assault rifle (it's too heavy, the ammo is too heavy, and the recoil on full-auto is all but uncontrollable-that's why most of them were semi-auto only).
