It is absolutely a game changer. For the following reasons:

From my perspective(don't shoot airsoft or .204 Ruger), to be a game changer, the accuracy would need to be an order of magnitude better, which it isn't. If it had repeatability down to 0.1fps, I'd also be really impressed. I haven't seen anything in the way of specs to suggest that is the case.

Accuracy to 1 decimal place is pointless when natural velocity variations, at best, are in the 10-100 fps range. An accuracy of +/- 1 fps is meaningless downrange. Expecting 0.1 fps is downright silly.

What’s a bit silly is displaying a decimal place when the level of precision is no where near that level. A well done bit of consumer electronics yup, but not exactly a game changer.

I should have said probably not. My point being a fourth decimal point on a set of callipers doesn’t mean you can measure accurately to that level. They don’t offer any specs on repeatability, maybe with good reason. The new Garmin unit will no doubt dominate the market and Labradar may be the next Blackberry, but game changer? Not for me.

I have had my Garmin Xero C1 for almost 2 weeks, taken it on several range trips, both bench and field, and there is no comparison, the Garmin has won hands down. Most significant differences...Garmin is approx 1/14 th the size/weight of the LABRADAR, setup is seconds rather than minutes, and was effortless to use, much simpler menu operation.The Garmin picks up 100% of .22LR rounds down range, even sub 800 fps (LABRADAR is finnicky with .22, required RAT, and even then was marginal), Garmin does not pick up other shooters rounds down range at the local Range. When I got my Garmin it looked approx 70% charged so I used it as was and in the several trips out in temps ranging between +5C and -3C it has gone down to approx 50% charge, have yet to charge it. Garmin seems much less sensitive with regards to orientation, approx 40 degrees grace in right left/up down alignment.
In summary...My LABRADAR is as good as it ever has been, however the Garmin Xero C1 is a superior product. I sold my LABRADAR less than 24 hrs ago for $530 shipped. I sincerely hope that LABRADAR as a corporate entity both survives and answers the call to compete, not just with Garmin...

When they said this thing was small, they weren’t kidding!

And I just happened to have a nice Pelican 1200 case that I repurposed from a radio case!

And a large lithium battery from the old LabRadar to give it some extra juice (if needed). Can’t wait to try it out on Wednesday!

Eight months later and I finally got around to picking up a Garmin.

LOL on the guys looking for deals. The price is still exactly the same at $799. I got mine at Cabelas and saved the 5% veteran's discount, which was nice.

Haven't had a chance to use the Garmin yet but man is it tiny compared to my previous conventional type chronographs. I'm REALLY looking forward to not being able to shoot the fricken chronograph and the setup of getting the unit on a tripod and all aligned so I an shoot the target at the same time, was really getting old as well.

I love my Garmin. Probably the only chronograph that I’ve used that I did ‘t feel like smashing at some point. Easy to use, set-up is effortless and never seems to miss a shot.

I just picked one up as well. Took me a while to sell my magneto speed.

I’m also looking at the LabRadar LX just to do a comparison then likely sell the LabRadar cause I don’t think it will do anything better than the Garmin for me and I’d like to compare the app alongside each other.

Has anyone figured a way to measure velocities less than the 600 fps pistol range? There are projectiles that run way below 600 fps.

Shouldn’t be an issue I had a buddy shoot his now with one in the 200s ? Maybe just needs to be in a better spot to see the pistol stuff ?

Used mine for the first time a few days ago. So simple to use. I’ll be saying goodbye to my Caldwell. I didn’t have a table so I used a camera tripod parked up against the camera tripod I use for a shooting rest. Slick as can be.
