Garrison Petawawa PR Match 1- 11/12 June 2016 - Debrief here!!

I am confused how myself as a newb to PR can shoot a match on Saturday?
As for refunds it's a moot point. Hotel reservation is paid and non-refundable.

I guess this is one of those times where you have to accept the things you can not change and all that jazz.

Shoot straight - chrisco

It sounds like we're going to build in some extra sighters to make sure people are on paper. If you haven't shot to this distance before, bring as much data you can about your gun and load and we will be able to get you on target quickly. The matches themselves aren't as "demanding" as CQB, so there isn't much need to practice or rehearse through the program.

Just make sure you know your DOPE and then adjust for wind and met changes (as well all will have to do).

See ya Saturday!

@ChrisWard looking forward to kicking your ass :d

Question for chalkriver regarding ATT's. If we have a long term ATT for all DND ranges in Ontario issued through the ORA, do you still require us to ask for a letter of invite and get a short term ATT for this weekends activities? Your club, your rules, I'm happy to follow your wishes.
I'll be using a NR rifle for the match but with the extra activities Sunday it may be worth bringing an AR and pistol to open up options.

I too have an ORA issued DND ATT. That's all you and I need to sort this out! We are good!

Since we are on the 100m on Sunday, I think it'd be great to bring our "trainer 22lr" rifles out and we can do some fun shoots on golf balls, tees, small gongs, and work on positional shooting with the barricades and toys that Morgan is bringing out. Wind will also play a role at 100m with those rounds.

Ill be honest in saying that I'm not going to spend much 308 ammo at 100m, but plinking with some target 22s at the distance will be just as fun.

Unlike some people I know I can't afford a 4K+ scope on a 22lr but I'll bring a 22lr anyway.;)

Bring that .22 LR and also your CQB rig. I'm not joking about the CQB rig (even plates) because the PRS game is really, new and interesting.... Yes, barricades and maritime operations!

Some of you have an AR (or two) from CQB; Bring it along for the PRS training. You will see why! Time to step up your OWN PR Game!

That's what I'm teaching you all on Sunday! I'm going to ensure you get yer money's worth on Sunday. Wait until you see the really awesome prizes I brought along for Saturday's PR match. Many of you will fight over them and the colours they come in!

Every shooter should have one of THESE!

You are gonna find out what's what on Saturday!!!!

And YES, I will be there with my S&J Level 4 plates to train with!

Cheers,
Barney

Woo-hoo! I was bummed to see that we lost the range on Sunday but now I'm kinda stoked! I will have to breakout my very first rifle the tactical awsomeness of a 10-22 in a dog s**t "tactical stock with a cat s**t Tasco scope! 25 rnd butler creek mags. Yipeeee

Mrgan, I will be coming with the green machine if you need help hauling the platforms and stuff around!

Your Mind is your Greatest Weapon...........

When life hands you a lemon, make lemonade!!

We lost Bravo Range on Sunday, but we GAINed Echo Range for Sunday. Break out the Barricades and Maritime sniper platform!!! Training time!

Remember that amateurs converse about hardware, professionals chat about : training, nutrition, muscle recovery , healing (all areas), employing resources etc, etc. So let's take advantage of this training opportunity that we see! After all, I'm not a gunfighter or a sniper, but I was a Religion Teacher! ;)

Cheers,

Barney

PS: Don't forget your body armour! Anybody wanna lend us some gas masks? I take a medium fit in the CF Issue version!

In light of the change in format, what should I bring in terms of ammo? I plan to shoot my .308 bolt on Sat, and have a .22LR bolt as well as an 18" DMR and 10.5" SBR upper AR for Sunday.

Thx!

Bring it all! Better to have and not need, than to need and not have.
I think I will bring my Tavor and a pistol as well as the 700 and the 10-22.

Hopefully we will get slightly less sun fornication as the CQB clinic.

As for the new guys being nervous about not getting enough out of the Saturday clinic don't worry. Let's get the more experienced people to help out, judging by this thread there are going to be plenty repeat offenders to help things along.
If I may suggest, try to get a descent 100M zero on your rifle and a balistic calculatior on your phone this way we will be starting from a solid foundation.

70 rounds for the Saturday PR match
All depends on how much you want to blast off, but 100 to 200 res of .223 for the PRS practice and 200 rounds of .22 LR
