Garrison Petawawa PR2 Match - 17/18 Jun 2017 - Debrief here!

What time is supper at Danny's? I ask because Scott and I are driving up Saturday afternoon, and were wondering about a meeting time. We need a good 3 1/2 hours of travel time.

Yup, the 6.5 Creed is a no-go according to Range Control, Until the new calibers are approved (again)...

Saturday night ..... Danny's for 1830/ 6:30PM...

I like GoreTex and lots of it. Water proof paper is always a good thing to have for analog back up to your smartphones ( ballistic data and calculator). You can find "Rite in the Rain" spiral notebooks at the Canex (and they stay open until late on Friday evening). The Canex is JUST that right turn (at the light) BEFORE you approach the front gate/guardhouse / commissionaire's perch where they inspect your ID.

A scope sun shade does wonders for your front / objective lens... Keeps the splashing rain drops off the glass.

I like using a large plastic bag with an even wider opening (score book and writing hand access), ensure the plastic bag is stiff / tough/ robust like the stiffness/tension of a freezer bag (3 to 5 to 7 mils thick)...

Here's the perfect chance to learn what's working and what is good for shzt, especially fabrics that take a long time to dry out (leather boots versus nylon boots) overnight in your hotel/motel/tent room...

Cheers,
Barney

just packing up now...

I have a new stove I'm trying out for an upcoming camping trip, so I'll be making hot water at lunch time. Bring your mugs and hot coco / instant coffee etc...

Anyone going to diner at Kelsey's tonight?

I am doing cheap and cheerful Mexican with HARRPARA sometime around 1900. It's across from the KIA dealership, just outside base main gate....

There are three, I'm told, change of command parades happening this weekend. So Kelsey's will be lined up for quite some time. So plan wisely

Go threw the main entrance then hang a right on the next street. You will find our group there around 8 to 8:30. Be prepared to show ID at the gate for you and anyone in your vehicle.

Well that little Quesada shop was fabulous. No lineup and the regular Beef burrito with a fountain drink ran me $10.50. John@ is warning me that lots of bug dope will be needed tomorrow so be warned. I got lots here, all on sale many years ago past the expiry date, just for you shooters. I'm hoarding the good stuff.....hahahaha

See you guys in the parking lot across from the firehall at around 0800-0830. Bring bug dope and lots of it....

Cheers

sounds good Morgan...guess ill have to check out PR3 to get that dollar-store clipboard back!

Great weekend overall (even with the weather), and great to see lots of newer shooters getting out and putting rounds on paper quickly and consistently!

I'll be posting a link to my data-book pages tonight as well as some pics of my Oh-S**t kit for those who were asking over the weekend.

Results are going up right now.... golf course got flooding issues and our tee times were canned. Opportunity struck and I have a moment to get the results posted. Some addition errors compounded by the wet weather prevented you guys from doing your MATH.... so I (DC, dsignated chinaman) had to go over all the score cards to ensure all V-bulls were counted (Thanks a bunch , PeteM). He was already ahead of me... Then I could sort out the MATH.... ;)

Some of the score cards showed only the number of hits and the multiplication and TOTALs were not carried forward. So, net result, many newbies had higher scores. Yes even a couple of expert shooters messed up. I'll blame the weather... ha ha ha ha

Cheers,
