Geared up to Gun Kote®

Thanks Boltgun. As far as looks go I'm satisfied. This years service rifle season will test it for durability.
Now I gotta buy a bigger compressor!

did you or anyone ever consider what the blasting will do to the anodizing of the aluminum? I assume the anodizing is only skin deep, so are you blasting the anodizing off?

from what I know, aluminum is generally a soft metal and the exterior must be anodized in order for it to be utilized in the firearms (and most other) industry. The upper and lower might have been painted, but I believe they were anodized first. Anodizing is a treatment which leaves a thin, hard exterior coat.

Humm..well if it melts on me..I'll let ya know.. :D

Redid my Cooey model 64 yesterday. I bought it when I was 14, scratched the barrel while I had it out in a boat and the salt water spray really did a number on it. Being young and stupid I let it go to heck. I've never had it out of the house in close to 20 years because I was embarassed at it's condition.
A couple of before pics.

and the after pics. My camera isn't a great one so the pics aren't very good resolution. The color is brushed stainless. I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Loose that cheesy scope!

The Oly can't be any worse one way or the other. I kinda think you should have gone grey, or green.

The over all quality of the finish is quite nice, having seen some of this stuff up close. Shame you keep using it on klunkers :p

cheesy doesn't begin to describe it..I put it back on because I gave the rifle to my daughter..I'll get her shooting decent with the glass then switch her to irons.
