So I got my SSA trigger in today. Its a 2 stage non adjustable type. It came with what it calls a "slave rod" looks like a small polished dowel piece that is about the same thickness of the trigger pins. There is also an unmarked mini tube of red stuff- I assume that this is grease? No mention of what it is, but viscosity is high. Should I grease all the normal points with this?

Some questions.

-Do I need to remove the factory safety or can I leave it in place?
-Once I have the C-clips removed on the factory pins is there a correct side to hammer them out from? Or does it not matter?
-For the slave rod, do I hammer this in place and follow it up with a real trigger pin? I am sort of puzzled as to exactly the right way to use this dummy rod. Do I need to grease the outside of the pin that will contact the trigger area prior to inserting it?

Any other tips on this? I have looked at alot of stuff online and its either adjustable triggers or all 1 piece types. They all seem to very alittle bit.

You better make damn sure that red stuff isn't loc tite, cause if you spread it around you will get to buy yourself a new trigger:D

Its not, the colour is all wrong. Its more of a red/brown shade. Not a common colour ive seen for grease, so I was wondering what it was. Otherwise I was planningon using TW25 instead.

I just installed mine. ArmsEast sent an instruction sheet with it answering your questions. The grease is for contact area between the sears and disconnector, for a smoother pull.
I didn't need the extra stainless rod.
Don't need to remove the safety.

Many thanks. The instructions that it came with dont say much of anything making them useless.

Armseast huh? I ended up cancelling my order with them after phoning, emailing and messaging them numerous times with no reply. I figure if you tell somebody the trigger will ship next week, stop taking thier calls, answering thier messages and you still havent shipped it 4 months later...maybe you should change your business model.

Another vendor, Blaxsun on this board gave far better service and had me the trigger in a week or so.

Whats the purpose of the stainless rod? Is it just to test fit the line up of the components or something? Thanks for the info.

USP is too kind, but thanks for the kudos! I do have several more Geissele SSA triggers on order that should hopefully arrive in a few weeks (neither are currently spoken for). Details are in my rather lengthy ad in the EE under Parts and Bits.

Hey I appreciate the service you did. Many on this forum have been looking for a good source for Geiselle triggers. Yours proved reliable. Any chance you can sell some of the other triggers Geiselle has, some of the adjustable ones?

Maybe the DMR adjustable one. I want to put some rounds through the SSA first and see how it is. Can you let me know if maybe my instructions got lost in customs?

Its a "fitting pin " so you can line up parts. It is very handy if you have to repeatedy install trigger / disconnector. Often you need to fit the trigger to the safety slot on a Geissle since the rear of the trigger is wider than the conventional trigger to accomadate the adjustment mechanism

If you use the actuall trigger pin, you will be drifting it in and out repeatedy

I now use this fitting pin every time I do any lower assembly. Very easy to line up trigger / disconnector in reciver, then tap in actual pin, thus pushing the losser fitting pin out . Everything stays in line

Back in the country and reading this now...

We received our triggers through official channels, AEI is the official distributor of Geissele Automatics in Canada. Our commercial resale order was paid for in full on Aug 26, 2009, but due to the actions of a US regulatory agency, we received them about three weeks ago (June 2010). I don't know what happened to yourself USP, I will ask Steve about it, but not having them wasn't due to our business model, it was due to US authorities. There were numerous 'they'll be ok to leave next week' given to us over those many months, only to have that change. This was completely out of our hands, and this is why we did not take any confirmed orders for these until they were here in our hands, rather we had a waitlist.

The day we received them, all waitlists called and orders taken and shipped, until about 2AM our time.

We currently have SSA small pin ($225) lots, and DMR Large and Small pin ($324) models instock and on the webstore, with all and any orders shipping within 24 hours. They include instructions, which are quite clear, and we answer the phone and can provide technical assistance anytime, and do so.

Regards,
Walt@AEI

I just ordered my Geissele trigger from Steve at Arms East and received it in less than a week. The price was significantly better than other sellers of the same brand.
