Gen 1 Glock 17 Value

Just because something is "rare" doesn't mean it's particularly valuable. I believe that to be the case here. If this "flawless" Gen1 is so collectible, it won't have a hard time finding a home. The range of values given here suggests that there's more value being placed on someone's emotional attachments towards the brand than what the actual market will bare.

If the OP wants a shooter he's better off to look elsewhere, that much has has been determined. If you truly want a Gen1 for whatever reason, I'm sure you'll find one at a much more reasonable price.

The last two posters are obviously mentally retarded, but seriously, $500 would be tops for a nice example with the original mags. Gen 1 mags are kinda unique in themselves. I'd love to have a complete Gen 1, but one has to be realistic when shelling out cash for a firearm that will only appeal to a small group of collectors. Glock was definitely a game changer in the firearms world with its polymer frame, and even blew H&K out of the water with this concept, so yeah...its earned its place in firearms history in that regard.

really mentally retarted you need to get a sense of humor:cheers:

i check the EE usually a couple times a day and I can't remember the last time I saw a Gen 1 G17. Even Gen 2s are becoming less common now.

I went looking, about 3 years ago now, and eventually gave up. I wanted a good shooter G17 with no finger grooves or rails, and figured I might as well get something that marked the earliest development. But I eventually went with an excellent+ condition gen 2, and even that took months to locate.
