General warning Don't waste your money on a UTS 15!

I have one gen 2 no issues I feed it everything under the sun , all the reviews I have seen the guy running the gun short shucks the gun and causes a jam .if everyone who owned one and loved it and posted about it I bet it wouldn't seem so one sided .i one the other hand love my UTAS and and know how to run it so no issues here

I guess its safe to say that Smith and Wesson made a wise decision when they dropped this design...

I believe these bullpup shotguns would function a lot better if they only used a single mag tube, or maybe were box mag fed.

Two tubes seems like it doesn't allow for enough control of the round and adds a lot of complexity and bulk to the system.

Most of the videos I've watched where people were having issues with either gun was more operator error than fault of the gun. I've heard the gen 2 UTAS are much better and some KSG's have issues but mine for one eats everything so far and has yet to have a failure other than the couple times I didn't give it a full pump. They are much more sensitive to operator error than a mossberg or remington.

I have enought faith in this gun that I am thinking of sending one on a non chaperoned road trip. I have not worked out the details yet but something along the lines of the following: We ship the gun to the first tester, he starts by reporting on the condition she in on arrival, then proceeds to shoot the hell out of her and report back here, the good, the bad and the ugly. He then cleans and lubricates her and ships to the next guy who repeats the process. Let's say max of 14 days per tester, idealy ship after 10 days so each tester would have her over a week end. The opening report will be very interesting as we see a lot of guns returned to us as faulty when in reality they have been abused through lack of routeine mainatance. So your cleaning and lubrication will be critiqued by the next tester! The tester provides the ammo, reports here and covers the cost of mailing to the next tester. After the report is made here and the gun arrives at the next tester we would issue a $100 store credit to the tester.

I would not limit this to only pro UTAS testers, I just ask for an honest appraisal.
Comments please.

That sounds like a great idea!

Can I be one of the testers? ;)

I think we will start on the west coast and work across the country finishing in the east and then for a finale a visit to the frozen north! If interested I will need you to send me an e-mail with your full name, address, PAL, phone #, e-mail address and your CGN name. Also the length of time you have been shooting and your firearm experience, I will not limit the testing to experienced shooters, I want a good cross section. I am thinking that we will post results in a spread sheet type format so maybe we will have a questionnaire for all the testers to fill out. Testers will post their own range reports, we will not sensor anything

I got one of these when they came in and I thinks its a pretty good gun, I wish I didn't pay so much for it but other than that I never had any of these problems every one else seems to have. The UTS is more picky on the type it uses more than other pump actions, It doesn't like the cycle the cheap bird shots as well that's for sure, but anything high brass it works exactly like it should. Bird, Buck and slugs no problem. Ill post a video later of me shooting a laptop with 14 OO's

I had received a new 2nd revision of the UTS 15 shotgun which I brought out to the range today and needless to say the gun would not even fire.... Looking into the issue to try and resolve it I have come to the fact that the bolt will not fully engage the receiver which prevents the firing pin from ever reaching the shells primer.

I am currently working on this issue with my second gen UTS as well, I have found that if I apply forward pressure to the fore grip it will fire every time, but if I have even slight rearward pressure on the action, the firing pin will not strike, or will very lightly strike the primer (and not go off). With a neutral hold, it's about 50/50. Wolverine, of course, is nothing short of being extremely helpful with all of our issues and should be commended for their efforts in making sure everyone can get a properly functional gun.

I'm not giving up on this gun quite yet, it's a total blast to shoot, plus it's not like the KSG is doing any better!

Hi John ,
I live in Nanaimo ! I got in on the first UTS order!
The wields on the barrel broke after only 29 rounds
, so I shipped it back for a full refund ! Thank You!
Then I purchased a KSG , which I still have .
