German Nazi Flag

All I got to say since this thread is going way of course is...
"Those who froget the past are bound to repeat it."
Nice collector's item. All you need now is a K98 & P38 with the waffen symbol's to go along with it.

Value is ball park $400-$600 here in Canada. On the net you can try to sell to the world and maybe get more. Flags are not large sellers. I have had dozens of German, Brit/Canadian, Japanese swords/daggers. Over 150 holsters plus much more. But only a couple flags ever.
I do many military shows, I am correct. As for a donation you get percentage towards your receive line. 400 bucks would be about 250 to you.
As for personal display our War Vet's Trophies should not be hid or destroyed like some zealots in Europe demand.
Canada is a free and just society. Sell it, use the money for good. That's what all us military vets fought for.....freedom/capitalism!

Really nice flag! I have a Soviet banner made in Latvia during the fifties that was used inside government buildings for decoration but not nearly in a good condition as your flag.

Thats a real piece of history you have take good care of it, can't be too many left in that good a shape.

Yes , the swastika is an ancient symbol, going back to the maya indians and probably further.
HOWEVER Die "Hackenkreuz" is entirely another matter. You might note that the arms of the Hackenkreuz are reversed from that of the swastika.

+1

Anyone who gets offended by a swastika has serious issues

Uh, what? Serious issues? I think the people who want to hang it on their wall might have the issues. Perhaps one of the only groups who wanted to wipe out most of the world...
Please people, consider what you write before you say it. There is alot of pain associated with that symbol. Obviously some people are ignorant to what happened in the past now.

Now, if Im against the Nazi symbol, I have problems? The anger inside of me is second only to the rationality that tells me to stop typing, and walk away.

I'd hang it on my wall if I had it. I have a collection of captured German items alongside my Grandfather and Great Grandfather's war medals from WW1 & 2 in my bedroom right now. My wife hates it, but hey I pay the mortgage too.

My Grandfather told me stories about killing Nazi's when I was a little boy and if anyone questioned my taste in displaying these antiquities, I'd happily recount some of his stories.

People start to learn your history this symbol is as old as time itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I proudly wear this symbol of good luck an protection on myself an it is there for forever. An Im part native so know what your talkin bout before you open your mouth.

But as for the flag GREAT find bud an enjoy a piece of history.............

Keep your gun paper work in order as you can bet the cops will put that flag on the table along with your guns during a media display.

As with our flag, (Or rather the flag before the liberals) many brave men and women died under the direction of and for that flag. I believe that displayed properly and with due reverance it is fine.

You might want to consider framing it and adding a plaque explaning it's history and/or significance. Finding frames that size might be a problem, but with some careful and creative folding, you could display the more promient areas while cutting it's size down to fit a smaller frame. I've done this with flags myself and it permits the flag to be somewhat protected while being respectfully displayed. With a flag like this, I'd do more than just nail it to a wall.

NAZI flag value

Thanks to everyone!! I have had a blast reading all the comments!!

But to stay on the original topic...I'm thinking more in $300.00-$400.00cdn. range because of it's overall very good condition. Smaller flags like staff car pennants command a much highr price, partly because they are much harder to find. WWII German Military related flags can go for well over $1000.00 but those are very rare parade flags...so the sky is the limit!!

Put it away or display it out of the sunlight...Because it's part of your familys history, I myself would keep it.

I have all my Great Uncle's WWI goodies that include a number of items taken from Germans that include 2 brass match box holders and 2 brass cigarette cases, all 4 items have "spike top" helmets pressed into the tops, a sawback bayonet and 2different belt buckles, plus his service medals.

Thanks for the laughs!!

PS...I also have an original 3'x5' WWII Nazi Party flag and it's for sale or swap.

Wow... people are offended by the swastica... it's a symbol of good luck, just because it was used with evil intent for a period of time does not change that fact.

I'm sure it's easier to blame a flag for all the hate that has gone on in this world rather than the individuals responsible for it.

Isn't this the same kind of thing we're fighting as firearms owners? To separate fact from fiction?

At the end of the day it is a beautiful flag that represents a period of history in our world and there is nothing wrong with keeping it and displaying it respectfully. Now if you flew it from a flag pole, fenced off your yard and started keeping your neighbors hostage it might be more of a problem.

My wife is German and says if you don't want the flag she'll take it off your hands!

I am of Russian origin. I do not get offended by swastika but dislike the flag. Now it is my personal opinion based on my own experience. It reminds me of my family members that died fighting against Nazis. I did not spend enough time with my grandfathers because of it. They both died do to injuries sustained during war. I would not display it in my house. But again I would not hate people who displays it.
Now on the other note , I have done some studies in the past and funny thing that I found out is swastika was used in Russian culture as decoration sign about 800 years (maybe for something else too) before German Nazis incorporated . It was reverse though.
Soviets do not hate Germans they hate Nazis. You have to understand that pretty much every family in Europe has been touched by that war. It does not bring good memories on both sides. Even Germans dislike that association from the past.
I would say keep it as part of history. If somebody complains try to explain that it was brought back as reminder of terrible time that everybody experience not to display it proudly (while wearing German uniform and saying 'Hi Gitler"),
"Those who disregard history bound to repeat it"- someone said it.
As far as Jewish disliking it well I am not surprised they still hunt Nazis to this day. They do not have that mentality forgive and forget in this case.

Stop typing is probably for the best since I have YET to read a comment on here agreeing with you. Including mine.

DISPLAY IT! History should not be hidden.

I can't stand people who think that items like this should be destroyed because of what they symbolized. It is vital that we all remember what happened, to erase or alter historical items is an attempt to erase or alter history itself. In fact, to me it symbolizes something completely different, given that many of these items were captured by Allied forces it is a symbol of triumph over evil and in that it should be enjoyed by all.

It's awsome... i love this kind of stuff. Not what it stood for but the historical background. I dont have an awsome flag but i do have a cigarette box with the eagle and swastika.
