Getting your name engraved on a gun

Saddam should have asked the question here before he engraved his name on this Ruger.

Gallows humor?

You can also notch the stock with each kill.
Don't laugh , many Europeans think nothing if it.
I know of an original Mannlicher Schoenaur that has over 40 notches in it and I doubt that the original owner really gave a hoot what future keyboard jockeys would think about it
Canada .
Same as monogrammed shotguns , a lot have past through my hands over the years and the monograms actually add to the provenance .

I've got a Winchester 92 receiver that I picked up for parts, that has a big "WC" stamped on one side. I'm hoping "WC" stands for William Cody!

Typically a monogram on a shotgun is on a small brass disc on the toe of the buttstock. More discreet and easily replaced if desired. When I custom ordered guns it wasn't an option I selected but the presence of one on a used gun didn't bother me.
