Girsan Regard Thread

I'm very interested in some long-term observations from the actual owners.
These pistols are obviously manufactured up to fairly decent standards.
Question is - will the materials used hold up to the abuse (none of us is really abusing the firearms we own, but You know what I mean...)?
If they would get rid off these finger grooves...that would be even nicer.
Anyway, I'm not lining up for Beretta, so one problem less on my head, but we are very fortunate to have a choice like that.

well the where I bought my Girsan they rent guns and the exact one I bought off them on Friday they got the same model and its been threw over 3,000 rounds and the guy told be just before I bought myn that he dose not sell cheap stuff just cause he rents all the model of guns he has and I felt the Girsan he is renting and for the rounds its been threw it still looks mint and Girsan is made on the same line as Beretta but Girsan bought that Beretta line out still have the same machines that made the 92fs everything but better and it passes NATO's inspections and quality control .

A little tip....if you have a GSG and picked up the spare parts kit, the touch up paint in it is almost identical to the black finish on the Girsans.

ya if you got the regular Black model girsan I got the bright white model its all shiny black would not look good on it lol but I just bought some 9mm from Wolf amo

I love my Girsan Full Sized 9mm in Black.

Ordered 3 more Mec-Gar M9 magazines for it, they are exact same as what comes with the Girsan, I know have 5 magazines and they all run flawlessly.

Ordered a BladeTech DOH holster for it, i'll post to see how if fits and everything and post pictures when it comes.

Gun shoots great, would love some adjustable sights or different sights of some sorts.... any news on new rear sights? I heard the dovetail is just a little smaller then the Beretta's so it needs some filing to make them fit? any info/personal experience here guys?

I got the Full Size but in the stainless version

It's the enlarged hammer pin on the 92fs that will catch the slide and stop it from embedding in your forehead if the slide should fail and break in half.
The Girsan doesn't have this, but IMHO doesn't really need it unless you are going to feed it a steady diet of +p ammo

well the Inox looks just like the Girsan bight white but the Girsan looks way better .

The Girsan's have really nice finishes! I bought mine as a 'holster #####' so I wouldn't have something I cared too much about if it got scuffed up from a holster.. it makes me sad after seeing the beautiful finish that it's future is that though..

on Friday when I was at the place where I bought my GSG and Girsan and before I bought the Girsan I held the Compact and I held the full size I liked them both but I thought about the re coil and I liked how the full size felt in my hand and feeling the slide the whole gun it self feels so smoth and rich there is not a cheap piece on this gun I feel bad for the first year I will have to shoot Reloaded Lead amo thow

I only got a couple hundred rounds through one (Girsan), and about 100 through the other. I don't see any peening or excessive wear yet....compared to the SAM I bought, the firing pin in it seemed to have missed the heat treat and was soft as butter and had to be replaced after 100 rounds. Or my brand new SR9 that has peening on the barrel hood after 100 rounds. The finish on the black Girsan is some sort of paint coating as far as I can tell, and honestly not as durable as the better coatings we find here in N/A. Better then whatever is on the GSG, but no ceracote, or guncote, or armacote.
For me, the big ticket items I want to see on a clone of a commonly available pistol are the frame, slide, and barrel. I have no problem with springs or small parts needing replacement especially when they are cheap and commonly available. But I want the barrel/frame/slide to be properly made to last a lifetime. I have no problem posting any shortcomings I run into with any of these cheap guns.....so far so good though. I'm going to run 500 rounds of warmer 124gr one of these weekends and see how it goes.
These are true 92F guns, even the locking block is the old style with fat plunger pin held in with a roll pin on the barrel. The lugs are heat treated and its obvious due to the discoloration on them, but its usually the dinky roll pin that fails. Brownells sell the Beretta locking block upgrade for around $27 so its not something I'd stress about until it breaks.
Grip screws are soft on both mine and scratched/peened very easily.

Cool. Keep us updated, please!

Personally I don't have any concerns with the steel being up to standard, if anything may be suspect it would be the aluminum parts. We have seen this with other overseas pistols in the past with frames cracking. They have been making these for 20 years though so may be a non-issue

1200 rounds and still counting through mine, 0 malfunctions

ya I told that other guy the gun club where I bought my Girsan and GSG from they are a licenced Gun rentel place and they got a Girsan compact MC on rentel and the guy told me before I bought myn he said I don't rent out cheap firearms hear only the best cause I don't want to keep replacing the guns cause it will cost him more money to run the rental side , and he has over 3,000 rounds threw that gun alone and you know people can be ruff on some thing that is not theres , and Girsan is NATO approved so that must tell you some thing :)

Girsan is not a NATO approved firearm.
According to the factory website pistol was tested in accordnance with the Turkish Ministry of National Defence’s technical specification, which "covers" the NATO standarts.
For "endurance" test 5000 rounds were barely fired.
Look at the tests that were done to CZ P01 for example (that is indeed a NATO approved pistol).
Quite a difference there.
